Elvis wanted people to think he had no talent on the guitar but the guy was actually a decent rhythm player using simple, basic cowboy style chords.

This helped me a lot , now I understand that I can do all that with 3 chords !!!

Basic blues chords + country strumming and some picking + hard hitting rhythm section = 95% of all early rock. Keep it simple and make a revolution!
