You there actually were two genies in the original story of Aladdin in the book 1001 Arabian nights one of them left after Aladdin asked for something that angered him so he asked the other one to fix everything back to normal

Unless I'm mistaken, the original story of Aladdin did have 2 genies: a genie of the lamp and a genie of the ring. Correct me if i'm wrong.
