This is all very true but also is especially important when the person is actually narcissistic or any other personality disorder that’s harmful to others and kept hidden by the person at the start. Narcissists operate exactly like this. They show you what they see you want, or what they see you are, then reflect that back. And once they think they’ve got you and start feeling like you are inferior they start letting the mask slip. And behaving abusively. In my experience all people with narcissistic behaviours are abusive even those who you could describe as only mildly narcissistic. My reason for not monitoring people correctly initially has been less about being lazy and more about me being naive, overly trusting and assuming everyone is a good person. I guess I’m lazy in the sense that I want to avoid finding out this person is actually a bad person. I’ve been too soft and too conflict avoidant. But your content 💯 has helped me with this and everything you have said in this video is gold.
