Dio is one of the best singers of all time, any genre.
  • @oscardiggs246
Ozzy was a singer. Dio was a force of nature. Glad you noticed Geezer. Awesome song writer and bass player.
  • @lerchfreyley1
Sabbath is not just a metal band. They invented HEAVY METAL
  • Dio is to whom all metal singers are compared. He was the complete package: charisma, vocal chops, stage presence, and lyrics!
  • When you listen to the studio version you're going to be blown away.

As Much As I Love Ozzy Years, Dio is My Favorite Singer, And this May Be my Favorite Metal Song. Just the Lyrics Ronnie James Dio Writes, Are Pure Poetry.
  • Dio was the greatest metal vocalist ever. Period. Game. Set. Match.
  • A tiny man with an explosive huge voice. He is deeply missed. You're question, Did he start the devil horns hand sign? His grandmother did that to scare off evil spirits and he took it to the stage. Many say he was the first!

Pause all you want brother. Its a reaction video, most of us aren't here solely for the music, we can do that anytime and anywhere.. We're here for your interpretation. Rock on, its a lifestyle that's dying.. tap into it while you still can.

"This is a magic that will never be recreated." Word my brother, word...

If you enjoyed this performance by Ronnie James Dio, you definitely need to check out the live version of the song Stargazer, which he sang when he was with the band Rainbow. You will gain a lot more appreciation for his legendary voice. Small in stature, but huge voice. As for more Black Sabbath, definitely need to check out War Pigs. Incredible song.
  • His hand gesture not only means long live rock, but his grandma used to do that gesture to ward off evil, so he adapted that as his signature move, so to speak. Awesome musician along with tony iommi and geezer butler.

I saw This line up of Sabbath with Dio in 81, he was outstanding commanded the stage and just WOW his voice, it never faltered even at the last few concerts he ever played he was a powerful singer with a great stage presence. Tony Iommi has always been underated as a guitarist, and Geezer Bulters Bass, he often played the lead lines with Tony playing rhythm. Dio though is simply one of the best rock singers ever, RIP Ronnie

Great job! The lead guitar player is Tony iommi (eye-OWE-me), who by consensus, is the creative genius who invented metal in 1969, and who fired Ozzy and hired Dio. I suggest you check out a lyric video of War Pigs, Symptom of the Universe, as well as Lonely Is the Word. The brilliant bass player is Geezer Butler.

You've just discovered "the granddaddy of metal". Technically the older version w/ Ozzy was the dawn of that - often Ozzy was called the "Godfather of Metal". Dio had definite stage presence. Rodney James Dio was a true performer - very theatrical. You commented on his vocal capability. Most fans and critics agree he had one of the greatest of all time metal voices - top 5 pretty much across the board. Probably top 3. And yah Dio, pretty much started the "devil horns rock on" hand signal. You are turning into a true metal head my guy!!! This is a good thing! We love embracing new fans. One thing about metal fans - most of us are truly some of the nicest people around - truly. I know that seems counterpoint to popular belief but many metal fans are "outcasts" in some form or fashion or were at some point, and so most of us just want to embrace and be embraced as a sort of brotherhood. My wife and I took my son (18) to an Iron Maiden show last week. It was his first metal concert. He told me he was amazed by how truly friendly and genuine everyone seemed. (recent season of Stranger Things illustrated perfectly how headbangers from the 80s were perceived vs reality).
