Multiple turning lanes will be found at complex intersections. Look for the overhead signs--most complex intersections will be fitted with lane designation signs but not all--and the road markings to know that you are dealing with multiple turning lanes.
On a left or right hand multiple-lane turn for the purposes of a road test, you should be in the right lane. That way when you get around the corner, you don't have to make a lane change, and you are travelling in the right lane as required for a road test.
If you are driving a larger vehicle, and are turning on multiple lanes, always, always get in the outside lane. Otherwise you risk a collision with a fixed object in the intersection.
ALWAYS IN THE OUTSIDE LANE FOR LARGER VEHICLES.
Finally, look for landmarks in the intersections that will help to guide you through safely. Ruts, gravel in the centre of the intersection, other traffic, and lane markings will all serve as landmarking that will help you to find your path of travel through the intersection.
