Grace and Jonathan Fraser (Kidman and Hugh Grant) are living the only lives they ever wanted for themselves. Overnight a chasm opens in their lives: a violent death and a chain of terrible revelations. Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child (Noah Jupe) and her family.

How Hugh Grant's face just turns from sweet, charming and seemingly innocent despite all the evidence to just pure evil and viciousness is just mind blowing! What a brilliant actor! And honestly the whole cast did a fantastic job, I loved the show!
  • I don’t know what it is but Hugh Grant’s performance on this episode really triggered me lol. He deserves an Emmy for sure.

me: I think the killer is the grandfather HBO: It's Jonathon lol me: OR it's henry HBO: Believe me it's Jonathon me: SYLVIA? HBO: IT'S JONATHON *still is shocked even though HBO really laid it out for us since the beginning

I get the ending. The one person who Jonathan believed he still controlled, who’s mind & soul were completely his for 15 years was Grace. She is finally believing in herself & accepting the truth. She burned the last bridge on the stand. Jonathan had to hold on to the only person he thought he had control of, Henry. The symbolism of the bridge & his not being able to cross it is brilliant.
  • The presence of the grandfather, Donald Sutherland in the helicopter : sitting and waiting for the return of both his daughter and grandson.... powerful!

Amazing show, and what a plot twist. Yeah in fact the plot twist is that there's NO plot twist. Every clue was in front of us and we didn't wanna believe it was Jonathan, because Hugh's acting is REALLY insane. Outstanding performances by everyone, and Nicole's so mind-blowing. Love this show, 9/10!

Anyone who has been in a relationship with a covert narcissist will recognize the switch in Hugh Grant's character when he goes from amiable good father to the man desperate to escape detection, to keep the deception going any way he can. He totally nailed those facial expressions in this episode - an amazing performance.

When a mystery isn't mysterious enough to keep audience guessing there comes the acting...Hugh Grant made everyone believe that he was innocent despite all those evidences against him, that's how good he was...we suspected everyone else except Jonathan but there he was in front of us the whole time... What a brilliant show it was, absolutely delightful, really wanted him to be the innocent but in the end it was always him, very happy with the ending though....👍👍👍

Yo know the acting is good when a the story is not original at all, but you cannot stay away from the show until the credits roll
  • The young man who played Henry was EXCELLENT hope to see more of him!! I did think at one moment it was nicole.good show!

They were all genuinely amazing actors in their roles in this. Definitely Hugh Grant’s best performance of his career so far 👏🎬
  • The fact that we couldn't figure out that Jonathan was the killer is a testament to the writing and acting in the show. My husband and I actually suspected the blonde friend who kept exchanging glances with the prosecutor for a couple of episodes. We also thought that the little girl in the titles, who looked like Nicole, and the song "Dream a Little Dream" were clues. More red herrings in the series than in most mysteries, and very well done.
  • OMG.... The ending was everything. I was hooked on every moment. Great series & amazing cast.

Some people say that the ending was disappointing and Grace was flawed, but I think that's what made this series so great. The whole story is about not wanting to see what's right in front of us because it will hurt us. Grace struggled with abandon the life she thought she had. I felt so relieved that in the end she showed that she has more respect for herself and her son than her husband. Grant did such an amazing job in depicting a real narcissist and sociopath.

  • @cynthiarouse
This was a wonderfully acted and written show, beautifully staged. She looks beautiful with her natural auburn hair and Hugh Grant is very good. So is the lady who plays his lawyer and Donald Sutherland. Very engrossing. Well done. More of these, please....great acting by all... ; - )

This was superb and the acting was stellar! The actor who played Henry deserves an award, especially for the final scenes. It was gut wrenching to watch and had me crying so much for Henry.
