    Liked and hired by Nobunaga Oda in Japan. If Nobunaga had lived, he might have had a chance to play an active role, but Nobunaga died and Yasuke disappeared afterwards. Hundreds of years later, Yasuke became a legendary samurai because he was black. Not because of his success, but because of his legitimacy as a black man. It's really a very interesting story.

    Yasuke’s story is very interesting. I had to do a report about him in high school. They thought his skin color was dirt and they told him to bathe with soap but the dirt wouldn’t come off realizing it was he skin color. Nobunaga was very impressed with Yasuke too. I’m paraphrasing since it’s been years since I wrote that and if I got my info wrong I’m sorry.

    Really fits Nobunaga's personality, the guy is more than open to new things than outright rejecting them and this is from a time where there are a lot of misgivings, misconceptions and other prejudice (just look at Mitsuhide).

    I find it hilarious how the Netflix anime based on him contained things like robots and magic. As if the creators thought Yasuke's life wasn't interesting enough and so needed sci-fi/fantasy elements sprinkled in.

    What are the sources for this I was digging through the primary sources and none of this stuff is here, like none of this stuff. Are you pulling from the 2019 book? Cool video and cool speculation but I couldn’t find any of these facts.
