EDIT: I know I'm 2 years late, but by request I've put my sketchbook up on Gumroad, available to download. No payment is required, but I'd greatly appreciate any donations for what its worth. gum.co/diGMc

Don't mind the page fumbling, at times I was talking off camera.

Hi guys I know I'm 2 years late, but by request I've put my sketchbook up on Gumroad, available to download. No payment is required, but I'd greatly appreciate any donations for what its worth. gum.co/diGMc Hopefully this will be somewhat helpful to any of y'all out there applying to Calarts. Best of luck!
  • @ beginner artists looking at these videos. These are professional portfolios, your sketchbook is not naturally meant to look like this. It can be filled with tries, failures and masterpieces. Don't value your work by every single aspect of development being the final products

I’m sorry, you shouldn’t be bragging that Calarts accepted your incredible work; THEY SHOULD BE BRAGGING THEY HAVE A STUDENT LIKE YOU! 😍✏️
  • @qamala
OHH MY GODD..damn you can do perspective, render, color, lineart, both stylized and realistic characters.... And the list goes on... to be honest, I think you don't even need school xD
  • @miaudrumond
How can u draw so many things in the same page? It's amazing
  • Now THIS is how you make a Calarts accepted sketchbook! Beautifully done, I absolutely love all of your beautiful drawings. Good luck!

I’m truly obsessed with how much care you put into every single page. I envy it a lot, I hope to one day have a sketchbook as beautiful as yours. I’m sure you will get in, you are an amazing artist and I absolutely adore your work. I can’t believe I haven’t found you til now! If you ever print copies of your sketchbook I would love to buy one to look at omg. Amazing work, good luck!

My dream college is Calarts but I know I probably won’t get in. I’m only in the 8th grade so I have a lot of time to improve my art. I hope my art will be a fraction of what you art is some day. Edit: I’m going into 10th grade and I’ve already started some beginners art classes at my sisters college so I’m excited ☺️

Best sketchbook tour I've seen. And I've seen a lot.
  • every page is so beautiful omf,, i hope you get in, best of luck to you!
  • your style, the way you fill the pages, the colored sketches... everything in there made me love your work
  • @angelaliu9360
I LOVE how your characters are stylized but still rooted in realism, this is my favourite art style and you've got it so perfectly balanced
  • @rosybloo9787
This showed me that its okay to have more than one artstyle and I appreciate it more than anything I was losing brain cells trying to come up with one artstyle while I want many different things (small cute bodies, the sharp anime expressions, details...) at the same time This inspired me to draw however I want and im so thankful hearts

just cry from the first pages. The way you simply express your own talent in such diversity of style, color and creativity is amazing. Thank you, this inspires me to be able to do my best and improve my sketchbook too! Have a lot of success!

I love the art. The only reason this depresses me is that I wish I had the kind of guidance that would have gotten me to this level in the same time frame. It wasn't until only the last few years of me being 25-30 where I got access on youtube and pinterest to the kind of art tutorials that actually made sense and ran through things. I only started in art in high school, and never could stick with it because the art teacher there actively sucked and not only did little to guide, but literally wouldn't let me take an art class cuz by the time I could fit it in a schedule, it would either be "unfair for other kids to not take art 1 and skip to art 2" but that "I couldn't take art 1 because it would be a blowoff class." And then community college had shit classes that focused on experimental art instead of any kind of basics despite being supposed 101 classes, and Depaul after that had okay figure drawing classes but the way courses worked, doing an animation degree, there was ironically little in the way of traditional art courses, and more specialized courses for animation that lumped in film, animation history, and such (which weren't bad per say), but with a weird lack of actual art classes. I was ready to give up cuz no matter what I tried, it always felt like my art was shit and things never turned out right, and that I could never learn it (not to mention the conflicts with other things like language learning, which had a similar issue). It wasn't until I saw some videos on the HOW to LEARN did it finally start to take, and it's just depressing. I wish youtube and stuff was around sooner. So much free learning that was ten times better than the money wasted on high school and college.

This is one of those few sketchbooks that you know will get in without it even being told. The technical skill is just so good overall and everything falls into place
  • Congrats on getting in! I’m honestly not surprised, your sketchbook is my absolute favorite of all the applicants. Your fluid characters, gorgeous color choices, detailed life drawings, the sketchbook looks absolutely gorgeous! Congrats again on getting in! I can’t wait to see what wonderful things you’ll do at calarts!

This is the most brilliant sketchbook I have ever seen, I'm not even kidding. Each page has something of its own that is so eye-catching and beautiful and the amount of detail in all this is just amazing. It really felt like you were flipping through a professional art book.
