Orthodox Jew SHOCKS People With Flawless Chinese

Published 2020-02-21
My Hasidic Orthodox Jewish friend speaks perfect Mandarin, and today we went to Flushing, New York City’s biggest Chinatown, to chat with Chinese locals in Mandarin! We bargained throughout the marketplaces and supermarket. Then we ran into a legit Buddhist priest and his friends who were all totally surprised that we spoke Mandarin and Fuzhounese. We bought plenty of fruit from vendors and groceries from the supermarket using our Chinese, and lots of amazing conversations were had. Really interesting social experiment that surprised us all!

Make sure you check out my friend Philip’s channel — he’s a Hasidic Jewish guy who speaks totally fluent Mandarin from a stint in China, and he's traveled all over the world as well! youtube.com/user/chayal304

That woman has been waiting to drag her husband for years, and she finally found some Jewish dudes that speak Chinese that she can complain to 😂

12:18 I just love this setting. A group of complete strangers, jews, monk, a drunk guy who has fallen asleep, all speaking chinese, chilling in a random spot at the mall. Love it so much.

I'm a chinese (ethnicity) student studying in Israel. So my experience is the reverse haha. But take my word that the people here react roughly the same when I speak Hebrew. I've gotten free stuff from them just because I asked for the price in Hebrew.

When you're filming for youtube but you interrupt a mafia meeting and they don't know how to react.

Personally, I work in a factory (Ontario, Canada) and 90% of my coworkers are Chinese. It really got me interested in learning the language, and I've been on Duo Lingo for about 2 months now. This last month past I haven't been giving that much effort, but finding this channel again and seeing the smiles it brings to passer-bye's when Xiaoma speaks to them is exactly how some of my own coworkers felt when I come in and try to speak to them. This content has inspired me to turn my outlook around and want to push further into learning their tongue, with enough practice I hope I could be at this level of speech!

I love that lady in the market keeping it real as hell..."some Jewish guys are not so smart. Take my husband for example... all the good ones were gone!"

Just imagine how freaked out that sleeping man would be if he woke up and all his friends were replaced with Jewish guys speaking Chinese?

That conversation they had with that tea circle was just so down to earth and boys will be boys type beat. Thats what breaking native language barriers does, you can speak to someone’s heart
