Nalbinding socks using the oslo stitch

Published 2023-10-22
In this video, I go briefly through what is nalbinding, the precurser to knitting and crochet and where it was used and for what. Then I show you how to nalbind your own pair of Viking-age socks! In this video, we use the Oslo stitch because it's the most straightforward and easiest to learn in my opinion.

As someone who's never knitted I am thoroughly confused but honestly very pleasant video to watch ❤

Never heard of this but I am totally fascinated by this technique! I don't knit, but I do crochet & that helps in understanding the increase/decrease concept. I'm so intrigued, I've got to give it a try. Your videos are wonderful!❤

I tried nålebinding years ago, just couldn't get the hang of it. I am keen to try again, and of course using the Oslo stitch, as my daughter is born in Oslo.

Thanks for this--but I can't really see what you're doing. A camera looking down from your point of view would be great
