When Arrival went public in March 2021, despite not yet having a vehicle on the road, they were recognised as Britain's most 'valuable' company making founder Denis Sverdlov a billionaire after trading opened. Since our visit to Arrival last July we have been desperate to return to their R&D centre in Banbury to see how their electric van and bus designs have developed. Whilst still a prototype, the bus has come a long way with a flexible, modular design aimed at pleasing both the rider and the driver. The delivery van has been moderated to meet universal demands but has kept its ability to carry huge amounts of cargo with incredible visibility. What Arrival are doing is revolutionary. They are not just looking at the designs of the vehicles to ensure they are scalable, it's the way they plan to make them using robots within micro-factories that set them apart. Although their work doesn't directly impact me, I gotta say, Arrival is an exciting company.

Certain kinds of electric vehicles make an insane amount of sense. Delivery vehicles being one of them given how predictable their daily routine is and the amount of fuel consumption they represent on the roads. Not just when they're driving but the stop/start nature of their route. Aside from that, EVs are going to be a lot quieter.

I actually laughed out loud at the introduction. Of COURSE Robert is a brilliant actor! I love his hint of sarcasm in the delivery. You cant fool us Robert, you really are brilliant.

I remember electric buses, they had them in Bradford until 1972. They were smooth quiet and could go up a hill like a ferret up a trouser leg.

When you forget that Robert is actually an actor, and a fabulous one at that.

I felt a twinge of sadness to learn that our Robert isn't actually a real delivery driver. Still, I look forward to these Arrival videos. What they're doing (about to do) to the commercial delivery space is fantastic.

It's amazing that they've managed to make a bus actually rather cute.

I love this companies ethos. As disruptive as Tesla in the commercial vehicle world. Can't wait to have my parcels delivered by one. Forget the parcel, I'd be asking the driver all about the van.

Robert, your interviewing style has improved so much since your last interview with Arrival a while back, really enjoyed that video. Great so see a facility like this in the U.K.!

I’ve spent the past 6 weeks doing multiple house visits - up to 80 a day in a small petrol car, every time I go to start it I think of the wear on the starter motor / engine, multiple starts and short journeys create. My total mileage was about 60 miles per day, an EV would have been perfect!

I love Arrival's industrial design, they've done a beautiful job and can't wait to see them everywhere. OH thanks a bunch for asking about camper vans!

One thing that is remarkable in what Arrival brought to the market is "forward adaptability" and it is the new forward thinking approach that that UK really needs. Well done 👍🏼✅
