I think the first option takes colors and perspective into the account while the second option (mentioned as better in this video) can't do that. A few more tweaks and thifeatures can become really useful!

Creating a new background from scratch means that the lighting isn’t taken into consideration on the talent in the shot. So it will look fake. As it does in your examples.
