Modify Soyosource Grid Tie Inverter Screen On/Off Switch

Published 2022-08-17
Out of my 3 Soyosource grid tie inverter, 2 had screen issues and had been changed. As these inverter are design to work 25 years or at least 10 years, the seller investigated how to modify it to have the screen totally switched off and still running. This is the result. We still dunno what will happened in the long run. We have been using this modification for 3 days, no issue. Hope this help someone.

Thanks for this information. Maybe the manufacturer will incorporate this switch to inprove their product. Or, they are making money from spare screens. My GTI 1200w 48v bat is almost here, it's just passing through customs :) Off to get a switch now.

Are you replacing both boards the MF022 screen and the SOYO board together? where did you get the board from?

This would look like the screen is getting to high voltage causing it to fail, from the video I can see the actual screen wires are available, red, black, yellow, green wires, wouldn't it be better to put the switch there so that the screen board keeps power for meter reading and only the LCD directly is switched off? I havent got my unit yet to test this theory but think it could be done this way
  • The switch can be installed, but when turn off the screen, in the “total kwh” meter will not be recorded continuously. I tested at the first and suggested to the seller. Did you buy the inverter from a seller in Viet Nam?
  • Hi Michael, I too bought a 1000w soyo, I wanted to ask you if this change effectively solves the problem or the breakage of the display is caused by heat. Thank you greetings from Italy 😉🇮🇹
