Today I'm looking at a brilliant Jaguar, made on an innovative platform, with a great engine and a special interior. Built in limited quantities it was the flagship of the company around the world. But, not in Britain - why?

'It's always a good day when you get to drive a Jag.' Could not agree more 😉 !

I daily drive the continental european version of this Super V8 (named Daimler Supereight here in France), this car is a dream. it's a 2007 version with only 55.000km on it, I bought it at auction at 15k€ because nobody know what a daimler was, and I can tell you that since I bought it last year, I never want to drive my 2018 mercedes S500 anymore. One of the best car I ever had
  • You have featured another example of the Super V8 a few years ago and that video is the reason this is my dream car <3

I put 367,000 carefree miles on a 2005 XJ8L and got 28 MPG. It was an ultra reliable car. Traded it in and have regretted it ever sense. Ford did very well. In every way, it was superior to my previous 7 series BMW's.

Nothing like a beautiful Jaguar driving down a backroad on a cloudy and rainy day. It just can’t get more British than this! Love it!
  • Thank you for featuring my favorite XJ. To me, this Super V8 Portfolio embodies "Space, Pace & Grace" perfectly! I would have one!

As a lad of 14, I started in the car business washing cars at my uncle's Jaguar dealership. My dad drove a fabulous 3.8 L, manual transmission with O/D Jag Mk. X. And i became a lifelong lover of everything Jaguar, with my uncle's 1963 E convertible in Primrose Yellow that is still my lifelong favorite car. The day I turned 16, I passed my driving test in dad's Jaguar, then drove to my uncle's dealership and bought a new Mini Cooper S 1275. After that day, I never again drove that Jag Mk X. My dad switched to S class M-B next. I have always loved the styling of the big cats up until the styling change in 2009. E-Types will always be my favorite, although though the years I have come to prefer the early Coupes the best, and Primrose Yellow is my favourite colour.

15:30 It took me a few seconds to punch in a search for that device, the SuperCat CR660iq: it's a Japanese radar detector or some other such device from a manufacturer that primarily sells radar detectors (that might be a translation error, it might be a GPS-based radar warning device).

Oh, X350 is such a beautiful, stylish and elegant machine. Love it, absolutely love it.
  • Idk if anyone will read this, but this comment section has made my day! I'm a diehard Jag fan who owns a 05 XJ VDP in British Racing Green. People don't seem to respect Jag anymore, especially in my age group (under 20). But reading all the positive stories and seeing all the positive words about these old XJ's (and Jag in general) has made my day. THERE IS HOPE!!! lol. Great review as well.
  • @davekennedy6315
Absolutely LOVE these truly stunning cars! The car lot over the road from my flat had one of these, the same colour and look (but a diesel version) for sale earlier in the year and the looks it received from passers by clearly showed that its not just me that loves its looks. Young and old, male and female ALL loved this beautiful Jag! If i had the money to safely run one then i most certainly would.
  • @davidarter9670
It was the Super V8 review entitled “Cool Britannia” that first brought me to your channel several years ago, James. Absolutely fantastic car. If I were you I would buy this example and do the engine mods the Cool Britannia car had. Then you would have something REALLY special!
  • @Fastwunz
That is a gorgeous looking car - it’s just so menacing and classy at the same time
  • @jo05dk
I don't love the lowered look. Think the dimensions of the car works way better when at original height. ..but other than that: I absolutely adore this look for a XJ. A fantastic looking car, and new enough to be actually useful. Such a cool, elegant and muscular design, and with a great balance of handling, sound and luxury. Such a shame they're turning Jaguar into a maker of appliances now.

As life member and self proclaimed president of the XJ victim support group, I just loved your report. I’ve a mint condition emerald green 2009 X358 Super V8 with the Callisto wheels and much prefer its looks and charm over the 3 X351 jaguars I’ve owned previously. With the right balance between waft, lightness and sporty suspension I prefer the way it gets me around (over any of its German rivals). It has enough mod-cons to make it a really enjoyable daily driver. Thanks and blessings.
  • @Thanos.m
Most likely the reason why this wasn't offered in UK is because here we got Daimler Super V8 which was the top of like luxury oriented model for Europe
  • @12jamiegavin12
Always been tempted by this model year of XJ, even a diesel one. Always thought of them as an old man car but I’ve just turned 30 So I’m basically a pensioner so it might be time 😎
  • @albertperks3476
I'm not a big Jag fan but I have to say the Super 8 is very nice. I think the longer wheelbase just proportions the car in more appealing to eye kind of way.
  • @pantheraleo2490
Jay, you should put a link in the description to an auto trader search of the car you’re reviewing. Because that’s where we all go after watching these 😊
