Firmware 1310.4 is live
Brightness appears to be much better now. Nothing scientific, just eyeball test. It is an improvement after about 45 mins of use.

Local Dimming in Game Mode is still not working at all however.

In this video I switch between Game Mode on, Game Mode Off, Game Mode on

With Game Mode on, the blooming around the falling leaves is awful.
When Game Mode is turned off, the blooming is almost completely gone.

I've just started using movie mode for my games. I disabled auto motion plus and find the input lag decent enough to enjoy gaming. I don't game online much so game mode isn't 100% needed. Give it a shot. Just turn off auto motion plus and film mode.
  • I really like this TV but I hate that local dimming feature in game mode. I'm trying to get a hold of an original Samsung remote (the one with a keypad), I heard you can go into a service menu and turn off the local dimming manually, will try to update soon.

Freesync appears broken again. nu8000 55" it forced the update on me when I wasn't looking. Causes driver crashes and the game crashes/stuttering when you alt-tab or have on-screen displays from things such as a mute button in-game or changing the volume in-game. is fin as soon as i turn off freesync.

Does anyone have also Problems with the colours? I have it since day one but never realised it..on Game mode HDR the colour red looks awful SDR looks way better than HDR I think it has to do with the ST2084 Gamma

Man, yours is worse than what mine used to be, I had Samsung to replace my panel twice before it got better, I'd say now it is about %80-85 better with the local dimming, there is a bit of blooming and clouding around text but the rest of the screen is solid black, before, if there was like a loading symbol in the corner when you play a game, I would see clouding and blooming all over the screen, if you still within your warranty take pictures and tell them to replace it, it's a headache though because they will have you do all the troubleshooting even if you already did that and then send you DirectTV person to change it for you, the first one they changed for me was WORSE than the original one and I was almost out of warranty and they acted like they didn't want to change it but I told them I have photos to show this panel is faulty and I'm within my warranty so either change it or I'm filing a claim with the better business bureau, hope you get it sorted, it's a fantastic TV if it wasn't for the damn local dimming, I'd say I am totally happy with mine now, I don't think I could have done better with them so I'll settle for a little bit of blooming.
