18 builders spent 4 days attempting to break the World Record for the tallest tower made of wooden toy blocks! This 25m-tall (82ft) tower contains 100,000 Kapla planks and was designed by @KaplaBen, who organized this world record project. Watch the behind the scenes here:    • *Collapsing* the World's Tallest Kapl...

Special thanks to Kapla and Olympia London for supporting this World Record attempt, Anna and Richard for the event organization/logistics, and the film crew (Robert, David and Tristan) for capturing incredible shots of this project.

Fun Fact: After we toppled this tower, we rebuilt it AGAIN but taller (27m high) and broke the World Record a second time!

Using the boxes as a natural drum roll is such a cool idea

I was chatting with a friend of mine, catching up on what he did over the summer, and was NOT READY for him to say he went to London for 3 days to make a 100ft block tower. Absolutely insane project, and I’m so so proud of him.
  • @tomcollins5195
Wow, that was cooler than I had expected. Thanks to all involved in its construction and design.
  • @NibsNiven
I love how the last little column still standing slowly collapsed anyway, leaving nothing but a pile of blocks. Brilliant!
  • @chibiacer
The artistry of how you guys set it up to take out a support, spiral around the tower, and then trigger a full collapse was amazing! Congrats on a successful fall and the world record!
  • @first2summit
I'm in awe at the engineering involved and the teamwork! Congratulations!
  • @drillerdev4624
I can't even imagine how nerve-wracking the construction process must be. Kudos to you all.
  • @bedomino2089
It was amazing to have the opportunity to help building on this tower! I had a great time there and the final result is unlike any Kapla structure I've ever seen before!

When you are using wood (especially unsealed) and build that high, you will see movement because wood changes dimensions as it absorbs or releases water with the air in the environment. In dry air, wood will shrink, and in humor air, it will expand. In a tall tower like that, especially with untreated wood, those changes in humidity and temperatures will be noticed. Your tower was a hygrometer. Beautiful episode!
  • @franckplanks
Amazing video! It was an honor to work with you, KaplaBen and all the other talented builders on this project. You did a great job highlighting the challenges during the construction, especially the lift door falling onto the structure and the blocks buckling in the latter half of the tower. This was certainly one of the hardest builds I’ve ever worked on and I’m glad it worked so well.
  • @jusztcapital8955
A real pleasure to be part of this build. Project managing the entire brief, and team from inception to completion was a dream come true. Congratulations to all! 🎉 💪
  • @alimustafa7680
Like let’s say you were only 1 foot away from beating the record and one of your team members accidentally fell on it would you let them live?
  • This is so amazing! The amount of focus for every single placement is breathtaking. You simply can not afford to not dedicate yourself completely to the task! Well done.
  • @KaplaBen
Thanks a lot for the great video and properly crediting everyone. It was a ton of fun and a very valuable learning experience. Big shoutout to Anna and Richard who did almost all of the organisation & logistics (venue, lifts, hotel, insurance, trips, food)
  • @scottc543
Okay, THAT was incredible! Loads and loads of hard work and dedication went into this. Well done!
  • @bob456fk6
That was fabulous, Guys !! Oh...I had the lens cap on...let's try it again.
