All credit goes to Nagelsmann 🙌🏽 that man changed the course of the ship in a short amount of time.

Wow all this negativity against Germany. What about England, France and Portugal? Just scraped a close win together. English media at it's best.

Musiala and Gundo took care of business as always 🔥

Out of all the teams England had the worst outing and still number one odds lol makes no sense
  • According to the British experts, Germany never played a strong opponent when they won for 50+ years.

Jurgen, there is no doubt Germany is doing a great job as host. I was at WC '06 in Germany and the people and country were class. Wish I could've gone for some Euro action.

Germany and Spain have to be the favorites so far. They are levels above everyone else as I see it.

Germany has that great balance between experience and incredibly talented young players . Germany will do well in this tournament and we also need to give credit to this new german manager who has really made a strong side

Kroos, Kimmich, Gundogan, Wirtz, and Musiala...that has to be one of the most skilled lineups of all time. Whether they win it all or not, those players are class.

Still downplaying Germany after every other so called top team, except Spain, played bad and poor, especially your overhyped England. Classic.

Juergen is just polite when calling England a favorite. It's the old German trick underestimating your own team. Quite the opposite to the English (still now) and the Scottish (prior to the match against Germany).
  • Julian Nagelsmann has truly reignited the Germany national team as they went from a team who was struggling to genuine title contenders at the EUROs and they’ve had an excellent turnaround under him. Last year, if anyone told you that they would be seen as favorites to win the EUROs on home soil no one would believe you. 18 months ago, they were in a difficult situation as they failed to make it out of the group at the World Cup once again in the buildup to the tournament they weren’t playing well and it looked as if they lost their aura. However, after his arrival, they have looked like a much better team under Nagelsmann and their form has been impressive and this time around at the EUROs, they took care of business in the group as they accumulated 6 points from 2 games securing automatic qualification for the knockout stages. Their squad is incredibly strong because you have a core of experienced players who can complement the young players very well.

This is the first major tournament in 8 years where Germany made it out of the group stages by finishing in the top 2. BTW, when they got out of a group of death that had France and Portugal at the last EUROs, they finished in 3rd place meaning that if it was the World Cup, they wouldn’t have advanced to the next round. In their opening game of the tournament, they didn’t need to be great, yet they put in a dominant performance against Scotland beating them 5-1 and while today they were actually tested against Hungary and they had some opportunities to face, they won 2-0 by defending well kept a clean sheet didn’t put a foot wrong and they were comfortable throughout the game. Now that they’ve made it out of the group, in their next game against Switzerland, he’s going to rotate the squad to keep all the players fresh for the important games in the latter stages of the tournament. The way that Germany are set up, they’re a fluid team who plays on the front foot are able to have possession for most of the game and at the back they have players who are strong and physical and having those sort of attributes with the right profile of players makes them a team you don’t want to go up against and these combinations that they have in the team aren’t really talked about enough. They have technical players in Musiala Wirtz Kroos Gundogan Kimmich Sane and Havertz combined with physical specimen such: Fullkrug Andrich Rudiger Tah etc and this gives Nagelsmann a lot of options even though he has a settled starting XI. I think that Germany are capable of going all the way at the EUROs and I wasn’t wrong when I said that people should take them seriously as contenders.
  • Loved the celebration of the German players. Kept it modest and team focused. It didn't feel like i scored but rather we scored.

This illusion that England is great is going to disappoint many people 😂 I can’t wait to see it.
  • Yeah, clearly these pundits don't like Germany and will look for excuses. Whatever. Still of all the top teams they have been the best by far

Klinsman is a great pundit with deep football knowledge, it would be a huge upgrade if he joins ESPN permanently. He played a big role in changing the culture of modern German football in the early 2000s.
