  • i’m really scared i was taking tylenol pm like 3-5 times a week to help my insomnia it contains diphenhydramine which is basically benadryl. now when i take any medication my body reacts to it negatively i feel faint, difficulty focusing, chest discomfort. i have finally realized what the problem is & i stopped taking it completely. just hope my body goes back to normal.

  • @ThinkYourHealth
Do you use Benadryl as a sleeping aid? Have you had side effects such as a hang over drowsiness in the morning?
  • @lindass5966
I'm quitting tonight. I'm 69 and have been taking sleep aids for over 20 years. I'll try magnesium until I can see my doctor.
  • @KevTheTrainer
Good to know! Nice that you put this out since it’s so commonly used!
  • @memielle7461
Thank you for this video, I started relying on it to sleep. I was never able find anything bad about this on google. Glad I saw this video.

I didn’t read all the comments here but I’ll share my experiences with it just incase. I’ve done dph about 6 times total. 300, 360, 600, 900, 900, 800 mg. below 600 doesn’t do that much in my experience but especially once you get to 900, shit gets awful. There is so many nightmare effects. You will hear, see, feel, smell, things that are not there. I was yelling at a picture on my tv because I thought it was a person in my room who wasn’t supposed to be here. I saw my dead bunny in my arms even tho there was nothing, I had full conversations with people who weren’t there like outside my room or outside my window. There is much more side effects than that at high doses and none are pleasurable. I had to stop because the people I live with were worried I had schizophrenia because I was yelling at nothing all night long. It’s not fun or healthy to be on.
  • @NissySlim
Very informative and a little scary with those side effects. We take for granted these over the counter medications, forgetting they can be seriously harmful.
  • @etanrrac5425
I was addicted to diphenhydramine for 5 years. For the most part I took 300mg 3 times a day. So many things happen that were bad. My eyesight got blurry while on it. I eventually needed to get glasses. I enjoyed the sedative feeling. I rarely took enough to hallucinate but when I did it was mostly thinking I saw a spider. I didn't make me fall asleep at that dose but sometimes I would sleep 15 hours. I would get itchy all over my body. Its taken me to years of working a 12 step program to get off it. Also memory was affected. I could barely follow the thread of conversations. I've got 1 month clean now. I want back and fourth with it once getting 3 months. Just don't misuse or abuse this drug is my advice.

I've gotten high off Benadryl it was trippy and interesting, but it did change the way my heart works, it'll pump slow and then spike up and go slow again. I also have a hard time focusing when people are talking to me.
  • @mesanders1113
Been taking it daily in large amounts for the last 10yrs. They say it's non habit forming but that's a lie.
