This has got to be one of the most beautiful guitar instrumentals ever, wouldn't you agree?
  • BB King once said Peter Green "has the sweetest tone I ever heard. He was the only one who gave me the cold sweats". I think that just about sums it up.
  • @CKS64
One of the most gifted people to ever touch a guitar.
  • It's wonderful to see how 50 years later a young man is as enthusiastic about it as I was when I was 16. This song has shaped my whole life.

This song touched me as a kid all the way in The Bronx and it changed my life. Me and my friends used to help an older gentleman we knew from church clean who was too sickly, and his house was full of old records and guitars. He showed us Peter Green and I fell in love. He gave me a guitar and I devoted so much time and effort into learning it gave me a reason to live and to push through. I was very addicted to drugs and into gang life/ suicidal, but learning the guitar through Peter Green's music literally pulled me away from everything and allowed me to get past all that. Peter Green and my friend from church have passed on since but may they Rest in Peace.
  • I’m 68 years old. This is one of the most amazing instrumental tracks of its kind. As you said … “feel”.
  • Peter's playing on "Need Your Love So Bad" is another example of how to create magic with very few notes, but perfect timing and tone.
  • Green's Man Of The World is surely one of the best pop songs ever.
  • The Supernatural is another great instrumental he wrote when he was with Mayall, great

Peter Green was a master guitarist. He and Danny Kirwin were a perfect combo. This tune is one of the reasons I learned to play guitar. 🇬🇧👍👍
  • “Love that Burns” is a great Peter Green era Fleetwood Mac track.

I had the pleasure of seeing Peter in a small club when he was just starting out with the Splinter Group with Cozy Powell on drums. He said in a local radio interview before the gig when asked about the blues, he had given up on all that, obviously joking. He opened up his set with black magic woman, absolutely amazing. When Cozy Powell played the drums on Albatross he made the cymbals sound like gentle waves, truly amazing. Fantastic memories, Peter has always been my inspiration to play the guitar even though I can never come close to his amazing tone, ability and touch when playing.

That's great- now all I need, is to be whisked back to late 1968!
  • @simply_psi
Albatross such a beautiful song and was one of my mothers favourite songs.
  • I just listened to fleetwood mac live in paris 1968 yesterday. Great vid!

I had just become 16 years old, when Albatross conquered the charts, and I bougth the disc immediately. Man, a band with a special sound, 1 drummer, 1 bassist and 3 men with 6-strings, so they could bring the original sound recorded in studio live on stage. Peter's assistent soloist was Dany Kirwan with a Les Paul, the slides were played by Jeremy Spencer on Strat. Next year the LP "Then Play On" was published, and I bought it, too. Overwhelming bluesy music, but easy enough for me to play along on guitar. Unfortunately, Peter had this live-changing event with drugs on March 1970, but his music has still a great significance for me, Peter brought me to the Blues ... and now, 70 years old, I still enjoy listening to the early Fleetwoods with Peter. May he rest in peace.
  • Beautifully done, as always. I remember when Peter replaced Eric in the BluesBreakers and I was stunned until I heard his playing and then I was floored and a convert. ... what a touch.
  • Peter Green exhibits a direct connection between his heart, head his fingers and a Higher Power. His spirituality gave him an extra touch that put his solos on an emotional level. Peter put his feel for life in his music, see "Man of the World". The Green God will always live on in our hearts and in today's music, many have taken his "less is more" style and put it into their music. RIP Peter
  • Fine playing Thom, you really nailed all the parts superbly, absolutely loved that reverb. Take care buddy.
