  • CORRECTION! For some reason I said "Rue de la Cornichon" which means "Path of the pickle" 🥒 (don't ask me why I said that 😅) But it's actually "Rue de la Corniche" and we highly recommend walking it when you visit Luxembourg. The views were incredible!
  • I live in Luxemburg and it makes me so happy that you are positive about Luxemburg!
  • @Lordschmitt
As a Luxembourger, I love seeing our country from the eyes of a tourist! Love the video! Great shots

The glass platform of that elevator was clear when it first opened which was even more scary. It got scratched up and is milky now :( sadly at the Moment its closed for prolonged maintenance. So you were lucky. The selfdriving mini bus shuttle drives to the train station a few hundred meters further away. That train station in build into the hillside and is linked via a funicular to the Kirchberg area of town, which is the financial hub. Luxembourg people actually rarely eat typical Luxembourg food. That's mainly what the poor people used to eat 100 years ago. The posh people always looked to the refined french cuisine. But it's still tasty. The Kachkéis cheese: either you love it or you hate it. No middle ground. There is a saying: "en as nëmmen echt wann en pecht" which means that only if it stick like glue you know that you got the real thing. There are different versions though. I prefer it cooked up with cream and/or herbs. Luxembourg is very expensive even outside of the touristy areas. I was laughing at the "cornichon" instead of "corniche ". Very funny. I might use that to entertain my friends that I'm showing around next time 🤭😉

  • This made me so so happy!! I grew up in Luxembourg and seeing people visit makes me so happy. People often miss it when they go through Europe so I'm glad y'all experienced it. It's such a gem!

This, and your previous video in Vianden, are definitely some of the better Luxembourg travel vlogs I've seen from food/travel YouTubers. The south of Luxembourg (namely Esch-Uelzecht and Diddeleng) is sort of my second home as I grew up spending a lot of time there, and one of the things that I find about tourists is that they tend to believe what they're told by EU/Benelux tourism agencies and only book a day trip into the capital city. I always tell people to spend at least four or five days to explore, if they're going to stay in one region, or even to stay for a week or two if they're going to explore the rest of the country and/or the Greater Region. There's a lot to do, particularly during the times when there are cultural festivals, and if you love the outdoors, there are a lot of opportunities for very scenic forest hikes and mountain biking. Also, I always advise people to stay outside of the capital city as it's 10x less expensive, and the country is small enough that you're never really that far away from Ville de Luxembourg, nor any of the other bigger cities/towns, if you really need to access the amenities of a larger urban centre. Anyway, thanks for the great content, and hope to see you back exploring more of this overlooked little Duchy sometime in the near future!

WOW, That architectural detail in the buildings are amazing. We're such detail snobs! 😂 Ok those desserts look so good. I need to get one of those plums deserts to go with my STARBUCKS! LOL. Ok that cheese looked a bit scary. It's like Alison said.looks like honey! Eric the fact that your a bit picky with food and you liked that cheese. We're in. Great video. I'm so impressed by the choices you make traveling the world. Luxembourg was totally fantastic! Those tunnels looked so fun to "get lost". I'm a big history buff so you have given us so much to learn and explore online. Traveling is not in my future but your videos are so much like being there. Thank-you!
  • You did that hill 'portly' style as we call it lol loved the elevator. Eric you could seriously be an actor. I wanted to see more of Eric the recluse of luxemburg! We are always entertained by your videos. Thanks for that..oh and we learn from you as well. :) we are just totally YouTube newbies :)
