Misha in all his videos has done more for Walther than Walther's Marketing Department has done since the inception of Walther.

I decided to buy the 4" compact for my first handgun. I'm using it as an all-around carry/home defense gun and potentially for competition with future upgrades. I've had it almost 2 years now and recently hit 2k rounds with zero issues that couldn't be explained by cheap reman ammo. I'm fully bought into the platform now and plan to eventually own several more Walthers and P99 clones in the future.

I want a PPQ SC to swap slides with my PDP-F in 3.5. I didn't realize the 18 round full size mags are different & don't fit in the now "Compact" grip size. Got a PPQ Q4 Tac when it was released. Tried to change the sights & found there is no fixed replacement for adjustable rear sight (adjustable rear sights are no good on a CCW pistol). Got a standard slide from the Walther USA shop (by calling them nearly daily for about 90 days) & added P99 night sights. Added a brass backstrap. Bought the PDT and installed the metal trigger shoe w/bar only (no competition trigger springs as the PDT manual specifies the pistol isn't drop safe with the competition trigger springs). No flared magwell for me & all I need is the comp (next mod). Built a PPQ Pro before the PDP Pro existed. Got the PDP-F in 3.5 & swapped the barrel with the spare 4" barrel that came with the spare slide. Added a bras backstrap. Night sights are next. I want a metal flat trigger for the PDP-F but there isn't one as of yet. If one isn't released, I'm going to get another PDT and swap the trigger shoe but keeping the trigger bar as a workaround for the difference in trigger bar shape. Satisfied with my PPQ & PDP-F

Good content sir. I own the compact PDP and yes it takes Glock sights. I put Trijicon HD on mine. I also own the P99 AS, and between the 2, I'd still rather carry the P99 because of the decocker and double action pull. The PDP is sweet to shoot, but a safe queen for me

Own a pdp 5in full size odgreen and 4in compact and ppq m2 4in. Fantastic handguns and very reliable. The PDPs have over 2000 rounds through them.
  • When the P99 came out I got one of the early ones and I’ve got some of the 16 round magazines you could get at the time that were supposedly “prototypes” lol (during ban). I was at Shooters in Columbus, Georgia and a soldier was having trouble with a P7 M10. It was sticking back on the last shot. I knew exactly what the problem was because I had a P7 M8 and I knew that if you didn’t clean the gas cylinder that it would eventually start sticking, I asked him if he had the tool and he didn’t know what I was talking about. He was fascinated with my Walther P 99 and damn near traded me. I think he could see the excitement in my face and changed his mind. Dammit!!

I have a full sized 4.5 original launch window (2021) PDP. It seemed like the best gun on the market at the time and I had never bought a gun before so I wanted to get something that was cutting edge and that's what was getting all the hype at the time. I have shot quite a few other PFSF pistols since but I like it the most still so I am glad for once in my life I didn't get burned buying into the hype. All my friends and family I let try it think its very nice as well and easy to shoot. I hear people complain its snappy a lot but I don't get that complaint but I also like to shoot 10mm out my Sig X-10 and even light loads of 10mm feel pretty hot compared to anything i put in the PDP so it feels very tame in when juxtaposed. Hard agree on the paddle mag release, i would much prefer that had kept that but atleast they preserved the much superior Euro/Walther style slide stop slide release. Going to the dinky little ones on all my other guns feels awful in comparison.
  • I have a PDP SD full size and parker mountain comp on the way. Adding a taylor brass backstrap, +3 extensions, tall ameriglo sights and a 15lb steel guide rod too. Should be about as nice as a striker fired polymer handgun can get. I think the total build will be right around $1100. Not bad for what it is.
  • @Dagstyrr
Looking forward to seeing you talk about the P99.

I own 2 Walthers; a P1 and a 4.5” PDP. I really enjoy the PDP. The trigger is excellent for a striker fired gun and it feels good in hand. My favourite handgun is my CZ Shadow2. The steel frame, though heavy, absorbs recoil and the trigger is unsurpassed in my meagre collection. I also tend to favour DA/SA pistols. I’ve heard Walther is making a steel framed PDP so I will look forward to checking out that gun in the near future.

I have the compact in the 5 inch barrel configuration. It was a bit tough to find a holster for it with my light but TRex arms came through and its one of my favorites along with my Glock 34 i like long slide guns.

I really like walther handguns. I have the PPQ M2 compact and the P22. I was thinking about the PDP as well. I thought the mags for the PPQ would work in the PDP that's kinda disappointing that they don't since I have so many. I don't care for the paddle release.

Is Walter gonna ever make a double stack micro 365 size gun?
  • @laxkid38
I have a 4.5 inch as well. I shoot it better than my Glocks. Put a holosun 509t on it and surefire x300. Only thing I don’t like is it’s snappy. Got a sprinco recoil spring and guide rod coming in. Heard it tames the recoil better. Great handgun regardless!
