For anyone that wasn't yet born when this song came out, and grew up or came onto this song in their life and have been accustomed to hard rock, can you imagine when this song first came out? America was torn from the aftermath of the Kennedy and MLK assasinations ; civil rights movement; the counter-culture peace movement; and of course the Vietnam War with the grim images of the war being played on tv in the same house that family dinners were still a common thing. Mom and dad played Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles on the turn table, and all of a sudden Black Sabbath is heard playing from the kids bedroom.

Fun fact: The first part "I am Iron Man" was made by speaking into the back of a fan

My Grandad was around for Sabbaths debut, he introduced my mum to them, my mum introduced me to them and I've recently introduced my 6 year old to them..... He was a instant fan! There revolutionary legends that have spanned generations! 🤟❤️🤟

Just that first open string note with the bend itself is so epic.

This must be how Ozzy felt like when he turned 28 and noticed that he is still alive

If they bring back Tony, I’m gonna need to hear this song blasting.

An excellent metaphor for those who were damaged beyond repair and are prepared to damage others out of vengeance...
  • I've have spinal cord injuries that limited my function. People figured I'd give up.....they were wrong! I'm coming back with metal in my neck, throughout my back and after 15 surgeries I truly am Ironman!

This is my daughter's favourite song. She's three, and clearly already all sorts of awesome.

This blaring in the back of the first level in Iron Man PS2 is a core memory in my brain.
