Thanx you so much Nate for the post about my band Deaf Dealer . Ultimately Journey Into Fear was not created in vain. Keep your great work !!
  • @tanktuba
Thanks for another enjoyable video. Some of my favourite album covers. Judas Priest Sad Wings of Destiny Motorhead Another Perfect Day Fates Warning Awaken the Guardian C.O.C. Animosity. I bought this based on the Pushead cover art. And for newer albums, King Buffalo Orion Weedpecker IV Spaceslug Time Travel Dilemma Baroness Gold and Grey Slift Ummon

I’m constantly amazed at the amount of commenting aHoles who can’t understand that a “your” favorite list is “your” favorites. Not the greatest of all time or a list of every thrash album ever made. These people are so ignorant and in 2023 still have no idea how a comment section or opinions work. Keep up the great work. Finally caught up on all episodes and Ghost at the Gallows will go down as an all time classic for me. Can’t stop listening.

Just want to say thanks for turning me onto Deaf Dealer, I checked out a a few of their songs online and loved them and I just bought their two albums on cultmetalclassics - awesome.

Love the Type O talk man. I remember my dad bringing home a copy of Life is Killing Me when I was like 12, and being instantly hooked. Although it isnt their strongest album imo, it will always be my favorite.

Wayne William Archibald helps so many bands as a tape trader back in the 80's . I am sure many people on your page know him cause this man brings a MAJOR contribution to the underground metal scene in Canada and in others countries ! Wayne deserve such recognition and i want to thank him personally for his dedication to the metal scene in general ! Merci Wayne you really rule mate !

The upside to living close to Chicago is that Trouble still plays here from time to time. Kyle Thomas does a good job with them. Such an underrated twin guitar attack and tone. Of course The Skull and Blackfinger used to play around here as well (RIP Eric Wagner).
  • Hopefully this doesn’t inundate you with too much info but it’s a comment on two different videos. First, thanks for rekindling my love for Type 0 Negative. I never listened past the first two albums but October rust and world coming down are great. I tried to buy the Peter steel biography but it’s out of print and a little pricey. Secondly. I was aware of Rwake but you reminded me of their greatness. I decided to seek out copies of their albums and also Deadbird. Deadbird 3 is a masterpiece. The song Alexandria is a classic. Anyway, after visits to eBay and Indy district, I now have almost a full Rwake and Deadbird discography. Cd only at the moment. Thanks again for turning me onto and back onto some incredible music.

Great episode dude, the Peter Steele book meant a lot to me too. It was so well written and felt like you got to get to know the person better behind all of the music

Hey Nate, just wanted to say I really appreciate Spirit Adrift and your podcast man. When you spoke about October Rust last episode I started listening to Type O Negative, for some reason I never gave them much of a chance before. They're no doubt one of my favorite bands now. I love October Rust, World Coming Down, Life is Killing Me and Dead Again. It would be awesome to hear you talk more about Life is Killing Me and Dead Again. I'm definitely going to pick up the Soul on Fire book. Thanks again man! Ghost at the Gallows is awesome! 🤘
  • Didn’t realize there was a Peter Steele biography out. Huge Type O Negative fan and I love Peter Steele .
  • @hobojungle1
I want to know about this first pallbearer tour incident you alluded to. Lol And I’m right there with you when you say you’re just as passionate about the production side of making a record.
  • @Chef_Deth
I’d like to mention a band whose artwork (unlike molly hatchet lol) matches the music within and it’s Sulphur Aeon one of my favorite modern bands…it’s Lovecraftian metal and their new album is killer all four of their albums are outstanding and the artwork is unmatched…it’s epic and dark the vocals are audible really a band that hits on every aspect and they pay supreme homage to HP
  • @HeavyArtTalk
Really liked hearing what you had to say about Joe Petagno. Excellent episode dude!
  • @johncarver9997
Tarot Woman was the song that made me decide Dio was great and I had been wrong about him
  • @liberatoreZ
'Blackout' by the Scorpions is actually a self portrait by austrian artist Gottfried Helnwein. I don't think Hipgnosis had anything to do with that.
  • @coledelahooke809
I do feel with the age of digital music, album art is just not as powerful as it used to be. My question to you Nate is if you could have a discussion on music videos. For me, I am two years older than you, but MTVs hay day was apart of my youth as it was with you. With YouTube and Spotify as the new way we are introduced to bands, I feel like the music video just doesn’t have the same effect as it used to. Do you still enjoy making music videos or is it just something you have to do as a band?
  • @DakTirCue
Hey man.. good luck on your burgeoning channel! I'm an old school metal head who def needs that singer to be on par with the shreds. My first concert ever was Testament/Nuke Assault / Savatage in 1989, maybe 90. Singers make or break metal bands IMO. I always feel that uneasy period when I hear a killer new (to me at least) bands riff and wait for the vocals to either affirm or destroy my hopes! Where did you listen to the entire Deaf Dealer album? I can't find it on Youtube or Amazon music. Jealous of the hair BTW...you bastid. Good luck with the channel mang!

Alot of my favorite album covers are "so bad they are good" but a few that I can think of off hand that are actually good that are not by any of the great artists that you mentioned: Kyuss - Welcome to Sky Valley KISS s/t KISS Love Gun Thin Lizzy - Black Rose Van Halen s/t Judas Priest - Rocka Rolla ACDC - If you want Blood
