How to put your charging handle and bolt back into the weapon.

Made this quick video for my older brother. He was having difficulty with placing his charging handle and BCG back into weapon. I'm very pleased that others may of found it helpful. Sorry for the shaky video. I only have a cell phone camera and it was just a quick response video, as I said earlier.

  • You must have been a teacher in a former life. Everything I needed to know in less than two minutes. Thank you!

Just what I needed as a newbie. Was cleaning my AR and couldn't get the charging handle in. Problem solved

Great video! I'm building my first AR-15 from scratch (it's also my first rifle), and I just ordered the BCG and charging handle. Everything has been stupid-easy to install (even the trigger group). I wanted to check how my new parts will go in, so as not to needlessly damage anything. It actually makes me shake my head how often people seem to have no idea how their equipment works, even more so when that equipment's purpose is for life and liberty. My carry pistol is old enough that there are no tutorials for total disassembly and reassembly, and that was a fun project. Figured it out just by examining an exploded diagram and tinkering with it. By comparison, the AR-15 is pretty simple, but then again helpful videos like yours have made assembly go quite smoothly. Thank you!

Like your brother, I was struggling with this too. Every other cleaning videos never mention making sure the bolt was extended in the bolt carrier. So simple when you know all the mechanics. Thank you for this simple, and effective video. How anyone can do a thumbs down I'll never understand.
  • @domineech
I watched a few videos and you are the 1st one that mentioned it has to be extended. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. Thank you.
  • For the life of me i couldn't figure out why i couldn't get it back in. I didn't want to force anything so I fiddled around with it until I realized how it was supposed to be put in. Had only I watched this video first, it could have saved me a headache.

Finally somebody that describes in detail, especially with the BCG, on how to reassemble this thank you

Hope you know how much you have helped. Guess I am not as seasoned as I thought I was. I have 4 ar15s haven't shot them much. Now I am building my 5th. Bought a charging handle and a m16 bolt, could not figure out why it wouldn't go in.Came across your video..just Before I got the claw hammer out.Thank you, you're a lifesaver.😌
  • Seems legit. Seriously though, appreciate the quick, to the point tutorial. -It worked! We have BCG penetration.
  • @mebugnb
THANK YOU!!! Got my first AR 308 today! After struggling with my BCG for more than an hour and after my wife threatened to take it from me. I finally heard you say that the bolt had to be "extended" in order to install it.
