I lived up in Shetland working at the hospital there during lockdown. It was the best 8 months of my life! I had only embarked off the ferry for an hour, felt like I was in an episode of spring watch. I left a little bit (well a big bit actually) of my heart ♥️ there, what an amazing place and equally amazing people.

Worked in the North Sea oil and gas sector for years. Saw plenty of whales, porpoises, seals, etc. But what really surprised me were the amount of Birds of Prey out there, miles from any coast. Those waters are teeming with life...

This quickly turns into a bird documentary

Great video. Very calming sounds and music...Shetland is beautiful. I've been watching the TV series, and they show some scenery, too.
  • An epic Survival Special, this one was filmed by Tony Bomford who adored the Shetland Islands. This film is so rich in marine life and seabirds that it’s captivating. 🕊🙂

Love the Shetland isles. Amazing scenery and the photography in this is excellent but I do wish the presenter would get his facts right e.g. Angler and Monkfish are two unrelated species.Monkfish are related to sharks and rays and have no lure to entice fish.On the other hand Angler fish is a true bony fish and is the one shown in the video.

Sean Barrett is ALMOST a Richard Burton soundalike .? I bet he can do a cracking Burton impression..?!

It so annoys me that the narrator says”these seas are filled with creatures” shows us a dozen, and does not tell us what they are.

Greetings from the BIG SKY. The North Sea hides a lot of history.

I like watching nature. It's a pity other's have to die to keep other's alive. Could it have went another way and we all became Herbavours. 🤔

King James of Scotland and England returned from Denmark through a violent North sea storm, later when he returned home to Scotland he blamed the storm on witches and sent some poor local souls to the stake.
