fun fact about the 13 adverts. They were considered "too scary" so they were only allowed to be shown at night.

£2.50 entrance fee. And now it’s £68 on the day. How I wish I was alive in the 1980s.
  • the smiler advert always used to creep me out, like the concept of smiling and especially the logo scared me whenever i saw it but now i’ve been on it i love it

i love how all the ads are aggressively whatever decade they’re from i also find it interesting that the earliest rides emphasize that the rides are free beyond admission price. did theme parks used to charge per ride?

I do enjoy seeing how those ads have changed over the years -- and I have to admit, I really enjoyed it when the iconic theme first showed up in an ad. :D

i love how the ads slowly get less and less terrifying past 2015 lmao

So wait. That one smiler ad is saying that if I go on the smiler it Is similar to ingesting every single drug there is? Sign me up!
  • I know someone who lives about 10 minutes away from alton towers so I have seen it grow first hand through the years and I've got to say it was a thrill
