It starts with just being mad about a fat suit... or does it? The moment we start acknowledging fat cells as a identity instead of a state of size in the body, is the moment we invite more insanity into the entire discussion. Where does it end? We are accepting more and more boring and mediocre media as entertainment . But as long as its wrapped in a social justice issue or it hits all the right checkmarks, its regarded as a cultural masterpiece. Yet when raw and real media is presented, with talent and story that pulls no punches, we lash out at it with claims of phobias and bigotry... Lets dive into this guys...

  • As a housebound disabled person, I'm getting really tired of fat positive activists pretending that their problems are the worst. I had just been reading about people who, through no fault of their own, live in what recently became a war zone, or an earthquake-struck region. This is what the activists are actually saying: "I have a safe and secure home. I do not need to worry about whether I will have a roof over my head tonight. I have a fridge, a freezer and a pantry full of food that I can eat whenever I want. I have a phone and a credit card and if I need emergency assistance or want to order food delivery, I can do that while sitting in my comfy home. My electricity, central heating, and indoor plumbing are working just fine. I certainly don't need to worry about incoming missiles or aftershocks. Therefore, I have a lot of free time. I have chosen to use this time to worry about things which make me unhappy about myself. Instead of trying to make positive changes in my own life, I have decided to be a victim. I am going to berate society until all of society changes to suit me." This is not a realistic goal. I will never understand why people who are ABLE to make changes and can improve their situation choose not to. Thanks for the video!
  • I'm relieved to see celebrities using fat suits, prosthetics and CGI instead of putting their bodies through insane diets to gain and lose for roles. This is a good thing.
  • The only 600lbs actors I’ve seen is on my 600lbs life. Some can’t move and the ones that can have a horribly painful time getting around 😢.
  • @megpeace5059
Anyone who attacks Brendan Fraser just needs to shut up 👊🏻
  • @OlafMetal
Ever notice how none of the people complaining about The Whale are 600 pounds? I was 540 lbs. The Whale speaks to much of my experience, and I'm glad it exists. If you had asked me at that weight to star in a movie, I would likely have agreed to do it... and died on set due to the physical demand of the shoot.
  • I once dressed and acted as an old granny. Oops! I appropriated age!!!
  • @LRmama2019
And is NO ONE talking about the parallel to Moby Dick in the whale and how important it is in the movie
  • @mirushiroi
brendan looked at the script for the whale and said "this will be the role of my life" and he freakin did it! he deserves every single praise given to him for this movie. his acting was larger than the movie itself. brendan is such an amazing actor
  • So…as a person who wrote, sometimes still does write/reads, fanfiction, I liked the points you made in your video. Unfortunately for fanfiction there’s a lot of bad authors out there. But there’s also good ones (few but true). The killer to creativity isn’t fanfiction itself (many stories are inspired by each other). It is the pandering to audiences instead of being true to your story and your characters. Even if they’re based on another character or someone you know, be true to that. Thank you StarSan for making another video!
  • @Daniel-tf3pb
Let's face it the reason that the bopo had a problem with the movie the whale was because it hit to close to home and because it shows the reality of obesity a reality that they deny
  • I’ve always been thin. Overweight people need to realize how unfair it is to me and my identity when they lose weight and get mistaken for a thin person— they’re appropriating thinness and wellbeing.
  • @jemase7931
Playing something you aren't. WHAT?!? You mean Errol Flynn wasn't actually a swordsman and a pirate, and all the actors in Hatty Potter couldn't actually do magic? THESE PEOPLE LIED TO ME!!!
  • @marymaza2187
Let's come up with a petition to make Hollywood hire real murderes, s*xual predators, and war criminals to act in movies depicting murderes, s*xual predators, and war criminals, and have them commit real crimes on screen with real innocent victims. God knows they don't get enough representation these days. /s.
  • I don't think there are any 600 pounds actors . If they were bigger they all passed away . Like John candy or Chris Farley .
  • @schoo9256
The Whale is the kind of movie that can only have been written by someone who is intimately aware of the worst of what life at 500lbs has to offer. Interesting how the activists didn't mention that. they just want the writer to be fat themselves.
  • They want to cancel acting altogether??? Hollywood filming schedule is 16 hours days. 600 lbs actor doesn't survive it. Acting is lot more than just wearing the costume. Tarantino shouldn't have made Django because he's white? Or Jamie Foxx shouldn't have played Django because he was never a slave? Makeup dude for The Whale did also win an Oscar. That pissed them off.
  • Dear Lord, I'd hate to hear what they think of Christian Bale. Mans just be appropriating everyone. 😂
  • @jasminebaker2
I didn't watch the movie but based on the clips of it here, he seems to have portrayed that character well. He in that suit, looks exactly like the people on "my 600lb life" that struggle to do daily tasks, he made it very believable. Is it because it's TOO relatable to be hundreds of pounds overweight? TOO accurate? Hmmmm?
