I wish Scotty would tell us how he really feels about car dealers!
  • @TemperTemper...
This is a result of the "Get Better Mileage Crowd". They don't care how long your $40,000 vehicle lasts.
  • @657449
When you show the repair receipt, make sure that the name is visible so we know who not to go to. The creeps might just do the repair again the right way.
  • The more I see Scotty's videos on newer cars, the more I am SO happy to drive my 06 Avalon and my '13 RDX - Large V6s with relatively good gas mileage and proven motors that last. Maintain, repair and keep! New cars have nothing I need.

The Ford escape. Its in the name. To ESCAPE the dealership if a salesman tells you to buy it! Good afternoon scotty!

This video had me on the edge of my seat. Glad Scotty found the answer. This was so scary, because i thought Scotty was about to blow a fuse !
  • I’m sitting in my 2017 Escape while typing this message, lol. It’s a company vehicle thank goodness so I get a rental when it breaks down. At 24,000 I needed new wheel bearings and new tires, at 70,000 I needed a new turbo charger, and engine, at 80,000 I needed a replacement transmission. The list goes on and on… I’m at 112,000 miles and so far it’s holding, why? Because 90% of this vehicle parts are new. got to love the escape, It’s been in the shop more times then I can count.

YOU hit the nail on the head Scotty. My wife's escape with a 2.4ltr engine gave up the ghost 👻 at 71K when our local Ford dealer found traces of coolant on piston 3! It seems to be running fine on the reman engine they installed, but have my fingers crossed 🔀!
  • @bradmartin3666
Scotty has made sure I stay away from Turbo charged engines for personal conveyance.
  • @2coryman
Awesome, I hope the shop gets to hear about the bad job they did, maybe they will learn somethings
  • @drawbridge611
I really like these videos that go through the correct way to use a scan tool to run these problems down.
  • @stevek343
Scotty waving his hands around like he's trying to land aircraft on a carrier.
  • @TheTriviumhead
This is why I chose an Escape with the 2.5L duratec engine. They're meant to last a long time. Its the same engine they use in a lot of commercial vehicles.
  • @amzarnacht6710
I've got a VW with the 2.0 turbo - runs a champ. Came with an insane warranty, too: bumper to bumper to 211k miles (tacked onto the mileage at purchase rather than total limit). Already paid for itself when one of the computers shorted out. Since Scotty says turbos tend to fail at some point that warranty will more than pay for itself repairing the thing since it will fail under design obsolescence rather than maintenance failures (i'm a stickler on the maint).
  • I okay. You said it and I respect you for it. Parts replace men. That's what most are anymore. Any time I find a guy who zooms right in on the problem and fixes it,nothing but respect. Thank you Scotty.
  • Your an angel in disguise exposing the fraudsters scotty..love your channel..love your honesty..love your work..watching from Australia

I’ll never understand why manufacturers don’t simply improve bigger engines using the access to things like diamond like carbon anti friction coatings, multi-phase variable valve timing which can include a low speed Atkinson mode like some Hyundais have. There are many naturally aspirated V6 and V8 engines that can easily get 20+ mpg city and 30+ highway. In fact one such engine is the Corvette ironically which can get 29-30+ highway mpg and 19+ city if ya don’t drive like a maniac! Simplicity is bliss. Great work Scotty! Keep up the great work
