  • Nice one, Max. I'm loving the field to the table. That pie certainly looked delicious. Old Peculiar, too. Can't be bad. Great video, and thanks for sharing.

Looks bangging ,i use to cook pigeon and shallot pies ,fry your brest chunks in butter and then the shallots untill they are sweated off , and make a butter and flour roux and add a sweet red wine, then add the roux to the wine ,let the sauce thicken up and ,in individual foil pie dishes like the size of a chip shop pie add the homemade short crust pastery base ,and fill the pie ,cover the pie with more short crust pastry, add a few holes and wash with milk ,pop in the oven until golden brown ,you can eat them hot or cold or freeze them ,we would go shooting on a Sunday, bag up anything upto 150 pigeon, the butcher would have most of them and i would take home half a dozen, then I would have to brest them that evening and make the pies ready for work the next day ,my work m8s loved them ,but i had to stop after a while as word got round and ppl started to order them ,i never charged for them lol ,like you i love to shoot and cook ,i once had a good shooting and cooking channel 20 years ago but i was getting anti hunters getting my video's banned, so i stopped filming

Just a tip, butcher everything and freeze raw without cocking first , for a pie , cook the fillings same as a Stu and you will always get good results, I love watching your shows and the content is great, I hope people will learn from watching what your doing 👍 it's really refreshing to see somebody from a younger generation doing what us oldies do ! Cheers😁😁

What a stunning pie!! Made me feel really hungry. Noticed you didnt seem to be sharing, phonecall would've been nice. Reminded me of a traditional 'Raised Game Pie', I've never tried it myself. Since you asked for advice/comments: You could try pre-baking the base and sides lightly, before adding cool contents and lid, which might help the slice to come out in one piece. If you wanted to make a game pie for cold slicing, you could just use the meat filling, then funnel a gelatine stock liquid through a hole in the top, again never tried this myself, but I want to now 😂. Looking forward to your next video x
