T-Motor Antigravity 4006 - bearing issue! Warning!

Published 2016-07-19
The motors were brand new when i brought them, they have 3 flighthours but as you can see, the bearings are seriously worn out. Props are Original T-Motor 15x5, balanced properly. Every motor has to deliver 700gram of thrust to make the Y6 hover - so way below its specs - why are the bearings so bad?

I believe you need to change the propellers to foldable/hinged props. The carbon fiber is well known to be harder/stiffer than stainless steel of the bearing balls. Any collision on the props creases the balls with multiplied force by the long prop arm. The props are too big and too hard for this setting.

I had about 3 flight hours or less, 3 of the four motors have bearings issues, hard to spin and vibration , just had to order some NSK bearings, hopefully all goes well

I have experienced similar issue with these motors. They have a really fragile bearings for their pricing class...

Interesting. I use t-motor 4004 that has the same bearing as 4006. I crash it a lot because I make prototypes. Have not noticed any problem. But my configuration is a helicopter and the propeller is on its own shaft bearings.

mine have several flying hours and are in perfect condition. Yours probably came with bad bearings from factory...

Do Anti Gravity motors work with 65A ESC (standard FPV FV/ESC stack)?
