I made mine out of cedar after watching your video. I couldn’t bring myself to burn finish it, I just used tung oil. Anyways, I’m very happy with how it turned out so thank you so much for sharing.

Love this with the wood burning 🔥 technique gives it that real rustic look. Cheers Tim from wood 4 nothing
  • Rustic Goose - You da man! I have all the tools you used, a bunch of recently downed cedars, and now armed with the knowledge you kindly provided, will start on my Christmas present list for next year. Great video with the chipmunk voices and all. You can get the little copper guards for bluebird houses and the 1 1/8 or 1 1/4 diameter holes work fine (got some from Amazon). However, I have found that the metal needs to be sandwiched underneath another wood layer, so their little feet can grab when they land on the outside of the hole. With the bluebirds, it is good to have a way to clean out the old nests for the following season. Thanks again for the informative video.

Oh, I was terribly offended by that abuse of your chainsaw...not. Coolest thing I've seen in while. Really liked the burn effect too. Great job!

Not really sure about what grit I can’t read the writing on it anymore. I’d think it would have been the courser of them because I had some flap discs for the higher grits if I needed them.

Very nice design. I’ll be trying to copy this one. I’ll have to add a metal ring around the opening to keep out Mr. pesky squirrel.
