I feel your pain, Iā€™ve had IBS for 21 years. I get all the other symptoms too, tiredness, anxiety etc. Anxiety is a massive trigger for me, it started after a very stressful time in my 20ā€™s. Summer is my fav season too but my gut likes cold weather, hates the heat (except for my trusty hot water bottle!). Iā€™m now 47 and perimenopausal and boy! Those hormones are no of friend of IBS! Non sufferers donā€™t always understand too well, it is a bit like wading through concrete some days.

I'm on my 28th year of this demonic curse... Stay strong, it's all we can do.
  • I have sever ibs for 2 years, my symptoms doesn't go away and it has been with me each day. I tried everything from being lactose and gluten free, following the fodmap diet, taking probiotics, fiber supplements, meditation and exercise, taking drugs as laxative and antispasmodic and NOTHING helped at all. Till one doctor prescribed me amitriptyline which is a tricyclic antidepressants 50 mg each day at bedtime and seriously everything changed i am free of all the symptoms and i can literally eat anything even spicy foods. So please talk with your doctor FIRST and ask them about this drug. It was a miracle for me that's why i wanted to share my story. Stay strong everyone šŸ’Ŗ

Iā€™ve also had IBS-D for 10 years. It hit me when I was 17, now 28. I avoid caffeine, chocolate, coffee (even decaf) , sodas, fried foods, gum, soups, and most vegetables and fruits except for lettuce, cucumbers, and bananas.
  • Here with maybe having IBS.. havenā€™t gotten diagnosed but it seriously just makes me want to live in isolation with my own home, my own toilet and for me to just live like that for the rest of my life. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge of this. Youā€™re amazing.

Thanks Becky for sharing your experience with ibs. I do feel for you because it can be so debilitating. I suffer myself with it myself. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to it. I can sometimes eat something really spicy etc and be fine then other times I can have a glass of water and be cramping so much. It's a strange thing. Thanks again for sharing x

I suffered with IBS for over 32 years . Had all the tests and cameras up and diwn etc. My dr sent me too an IBS dietitian and put on the Fodmap diet and low and behold im gluten intolerant . My life has changed so much . No pains or toilet trips .. unless i eat wheat . Then its my fault šŸ™„

Thank you for sharing your own experience and thank you for sharing all of your recipes! I have grown to love your channel and have tried a few of your recipes now. I have not been "definitively" diagnosed yet with IBS, but I have gone through a multitude of tests and am currently taking medication for it. I also have upper GI issues. Its been a nightmare to say the least. It only began in January for me. I can completely relate to all of your symptoms including the constipation, brain fog, and pain in your muscles and/or knees. Its been the most challenging experience in my life thus far. That being said I am a firefighter/emt and also a nursing student. I have not been able to have any garlic or onion at all yet. I can't have garlic infused oil either. I am also now gluten free and have to have minimal to no dairy. Its been such a challenge for me but I am adapting as best I can. That being said I just want to say thank you again for sharing your story and being authentic to your viewers such as myself who are still so new to this. Your recipes and story have encouraged me to keep trying and that I am not alone. I wish you the best of luck as you continue your IBS journey. Some one once told me that in your harshest moments their are usually the best moments that follow. I hope that will be the same for you!

I just discovered your videos and I donā€™t feel so alone anymore. Your description of how IBS has evolved over the years matches my experience too. Sugar right now is a huge trigger and itā€™s been hard. My wife had gestational diabetes and I cook at home, and creating a following this diet helped me so much at the time. After baby was born, we tried reintroducing sugar to our diet, and sheā€™s fine but I get very sick.

Thank you for sharing! I find some solace in hearing that you also react to weather changes and that sometimes you have symptoms for no reason, because I feel it too

Eish it's been 11 years for me. I also thought I was going to be cured one day. Stay strong Becky.

Thank you for sharing all this time. After COVID-19 my GI has been a wreck. Your videos have been so helpful and I am so thankful for you sharing your experiences!
  • The one good thing I can say about menopause is the absence of the hormonal roller coaster. Definitely improved IBS as long as I avoid my triggers (other than stress).
  • Thank you for posting these videos. I have been having IBS like issues for the last couple of years. I have been so embarrassed about it or thinking it will resolve on its own that I was worried about seeing a doctor. All of your videos have helped a lot. I have definitely felt a mental connection to it as well. Thank you for all of your videos :)
  • Itā€™s constantly everyday the flare ups when u donā€™t expect it is horrible ngl i found that Actimel has helped so much

Thank you for sharing. It is helpful to know I'm not alone in this and reading others comments also help. Hoping you all have more good days than bad ones.

I feel your pain, I've had IBS for almost 2 years. It has called so many other symptoms, fatigue, anxiety and paranoia. I've had anxiety for my whole life but It triggers the pain a bunch, I can't eat or drink dairy, I can't eat gluten. 2 months after I started getting symptoms I went to the doctors In March 2021 and they didn't do anything, so I went to the doctors In April 2021 and they gave me Famoditine (you can look it up) and It helped SO SO much with my symptoms and acid reflux, once I finished the bottle of Famoditine I started gaining my symptoms again, So this year I bought more Famoditine and It doesn't work anymore. And like you said In the video, the weather triggers flare ups, for instance It has been raining ALL WEEK, and I have been in pain all week. Thanks for making this video, It really comforted me. Thanks.
  • I'm in the process of being diagnosed with IBS and just found your channel. Perfect timing, huh?
  • @momoftrips1
