  • I like how Larry acknowledged that he avoided some political problems because of his association with Bruno.
  • @ericdravenX00X
A name that comes to mind as far as "Badasses" is Danny Hodge..
  • @drewprice8468
I remember the “choke sleeper taught to Larry by Judo Gene Lebell” being mentioned on Nitro. Thanks for mentioning the old timers.
  • @roysmith6880
Larry is a great entertaining guy never see a bad interview his stories are classic much respect to the living legend
  • @-The-Darkside
I like Larry explaining wigan to the northern Englishman. Ive bet Billy Robinson at a camp in 09/10ish he was old but absolutely solid, like he was made from wood, all I could think was "I bet this is like meeting Stu Hart"

Karl Gotch and Billy Robinson also trained a lot of the Japanese early MMA fighters including Kazushi Sakuraba who beat many of the Gracies including Royce who won UFC1. Billy Robinson also trained recent MMA fighter Josh Barnett in catch wrestling. So the Wigan Snakepit had a huge influence on Pro Wrestling and MMA. Gotch was a Belgian but the German suplex is named after him when he played a German heel. Gotch most likely learned that suplex in Wigan, so it could just as easy be an English suplex. Kimura is just a double wrist lock taught to Kimura by Gotch and Robinson and is an old submission from Wigan.

Larry was an above average amateur wrestler. He could take care of himself.Folks doing the bullying weren't looking to hard for him.
  • Adrian Street was legit too. You couldn’t get into the British pro ranks in the 50s-70s unless you had an amateur background and could look after yourself in the ring. Hence why Adrian kicked seven bells out Mr Savile at the Nottingham Ice Rink.

I went to the Calgary matches for years. I saw Foley vs. Stu Hart with tag partners several times and Foley and Stu would always come heavy, stiff each other, and legitimately break each other's ribs, crack jaws, and my favorite was Stu giving Foley one of his patented lifters (uppercut) and Foley's dentures came tumbling out of his mouth in pieces. It was obvious they enjoyed shooting on each other. Foley stomped Stu for real wearing cowboy boots and broke Stu's ribs at like age 63 and Bret said Stu was on cloud nine after cuz he got to get back into ring action again. Foley and Dyno did great promos too when Dyno was fueding with Davey Boy.
  • @NightcapLover
Fit Finley was legit badass, and his mate Regal, two real hard cases!
  • We were told if Billy Robinson had a bad day, you were going to have a bad day too.
  • @philiptamer8995
I met Mr Zbyszko once and he was a GREAT GUY ! We talked about his golf game too !
  • @drewprice8468
They invited fans into the ring in memphis in the 50’s and 60’s. Doug Peterson, Al Galento, and Billy Wicks would take the challenges. A young man distinguished himself and became known as “Dick West”…he later became Jerry Lee Lewis’s bodyguard. Rip Billy Wicks and Uncle Dick West.
  • Really appreciate how Sadisco is upfront about stuff and knows the business in and out
  • It is such a pleasure to see a wrestling interviewer who actually knows what he is talking about! I really enjoy these videos and I'm surprised you're only on 168k subs! Keep doing what you're doing!
  • Another legit badass was the legendary Lou Thesz. He'd have no problem turning a "work" match into a "shoot" match, and he did exactly that several times when his opponent tried to genuinely hurt or double-cross him. But I understand that Thesz was already at the very tail end of his career as an active wrestler when Larry made his wrestling debut in the early 70's.
  • @lrm215
If I recall Karl Gotch shot on Buddy. Rogers injuring him which caused him to look to Japan he actually won the WWWF Tag Team Championship in the early 70’s
