Hurricane Beryl: Texans Struggle With Blackouts and Floodwater Damage

Published 2024-07-09
The Texan city of Houston is struggling through Hurricane Beryl’s chaotic aftermath, with power outages, blocked roads, internet disruptions and spotty access to gas expected to linger well after the storm’s floodwaters recede. The blackouts have also left residents to swelter through a heat wave. Beryl, now downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone, is carving a path to the northeast of the US.

  • I am in teaxas but I live in the Woodlands but geez it was crazy we don’t have power in been out over 24 hours at this point I hope it’s come back on today night

Centerpoint sent an automated message that said it would be 2 to 3 more days before all power is restored. My power has been out since 5am Monday.

🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ Just like Cancun Cruz during the freeze, Absconded Abbott literally left Texas underwater to be at an "economic development" in Taiwan. And, Pathetic Patrick wasn't competent enough to have electrical crews from out of state available to aid Centerpoint in getting electrical services restored.

Poor Texas they seriously need to upgrade their electric grid. Every storm they get they have power outages!! Where is Abbot ???

First they vote to do away with regulations so these disasters could be averted and then they beg for federal aid. Well I’m sick of it. Please secede like you always threaten to. You’ll last about a minute without our tax dollars!
  • Federal dollars available. Greggy boy has to pick up the phone and act like he cares.

his is a company I would not recommend doing business with. You are better off to find a local dealer near you to take care of your problems. His insurance company will end up costing you double what a local. Contractor will. I bought. a new home. And had a. Warranty with these people? When I went to use it. And particulars about it. It was way cheaper to use a local contractor.

No federal aid. Texas wants to stand on its own .so do it
