First John 2:15–17 commands us not to love the world or the things of the world. Setting our hearts on the world is incompatible with love for God. In this message, Dr. Voddie Baucham reminds us of our call to stand against the world when we are called to compromise and considers how we may do this by developing a Christian worldview, recognizing the errors of worldly philosophies, and committing ourselves to the community of believers in the church.

This message is from Stand Firm, our 2023 National Conference:    • Stand Firm: 2023 National Conference

“Love can be sinful”, like when directed at wrong object. This was excellent

I love how he presents this message. No screaming. No shouting. No begging the audience for an applause. Just speaking plain truth in the most understandable way. I prayed to God for a true teacher of his word and he answered my prayers. Thank you!
  • “Love becomes sinful when it arises from the wrong source” excellent statement

Sermons like this is why Voddie Baucham is one of my favorite preachers. He seems to have no fear calling out things even the Christian community is hesitant to at times.

Never heard this type of message preached before in such a clear way and speaking so eloquently about and against the cultural mindset of our time.
  • I just prayed yesterday that God would lead me to a present teacher ( preacher) that speaks sound doctrine. Today I was lead to voddie. Ty Lord ❤️🙏
  • Thank you Voddie for standing up for what is right, even when we know you will be called homophobic and intolerant etc. I give thanks to God for producing such an amazing, clear preacher from which to learn from.
  • I have listened to this sermon 3 times now, taken notes, (which practically rewriting the entire sermon), passed it on, saved it and will likely listen to it many more times. Thank you God for Voddie Baucham and blessing us with your inspired word.
  • I love when a Pastor can break down a passage in simple form, while giving you a rebuke. Thank you Lord.

Voddie can take the most deep theology and present it in the most understanding way! Thank you my Brother! 🙏🏻
  • This type of message is what the church needs!! People are so focused on "feeling good" and having "spiritual experiences". The best thing that can happen is we hear the Word of God, grieve over our sin and turn from it and trust in Christ! Thanks brother Voddie...appreciate the straight shootin!!!
  • we need more preachers like him and less entertainers like joel osteen

Am listening to this sermon from Uganda. What a message for all believers of the true gospel of Jesus Christ.... That's the only way we need to define love... Love for God, for brethren, church for our family, but never for this passing world.... Amen.... I love you Jesus..... Continue revealing your truths to this fallen world.... May our leaders stop imposing their evil on innocent people...
  • Thank you for this sermon. And reminding me that I constantly need to examine my heart, to be sure that I'm not indulging in the sinful nature of the world. I certainly don't love the beast system, and I'm sure many of us don't, but there is still danger because we can succumb to our fleshly desires. Lord God Almighty, Help us not to worship idols. Help us to see clearly the sin of the world so that we will not give in to the temptations. And please bless Voddie In Jesus Holy Name Amen 🙏
  • In times like these that we are living, we need sound teachers. Thank you sir
  • I despise the world more and more every day! Just look forward to my home in heaven!

We need to support this man of God with our prayers specially in the times we are living.
  • I traveled to Orlando for this conference to hear him in person. I am thrilled to be able to share this message with friends and family. Thank you for sharing. I will listen again and again until I can somehow impart this truth in love when I hear and see "love is love" An important word for our day, "love can be sinful".
