I looked up consignment / secondhand bridal shops in my area. I went to one that is run completely by volunteers and sells only donated gowns. All the money from purchased dresses goes to a cancer support community. I found the dress I wanted on the first visit! The price was above my budget, but the fact that it is a charitable donation made me feel better. Plus I like that a reused dress keeps down on waste. And this is a classy gown fit for a queen. I imagine it would be 3x the price in a retail getup.

Got mines on JJs House and I love it 🤩 I put in my measurements, paid £250 and a month later it arrived. Fits like a glove, no tailoring required and it is really good quality which I was surprised about 😃

Used or Clearance is the way to go!!!! I found a dress on clearance for $275 from the original $1000 price tag. It is 100% possible and it gave so much room in the budget for other things.
  • If you are in the Midwest, there is an amazing bridal shop called "new name," in Illinois. They sell used and new(last year's models and stuff). Many affordable options and you can still have the "shopping" experience.

Love your makeup! Thank you that this isn't a super long video but still helpful and informative!

Three years ago you helped me manage finances for my wedding by substituting, DIYing and other saving techniques. I subbed when you had less than 20,000 subscribers and I am delighted to see how your channel has grown as I knew it would have. Greetings from Guyana south America 🇬🇾😊
  • Jamie, I got married April 23rd of last year and I cannot thank you enough. Your videos helped me so friggin' much. Much ❤ from Georgia, USA 🇺🇸.

I'm getting mine designed; found a photo online, couldn't find it anywhere so I got a designer to make it for me. I'm super excited. Visted a bunch of stories to try out their dresses in the fabric I'm getting mine in, the same shape that mine will be, as well as dresses with the same neck line...just to see how I think I'll look and feel once my dress is completed. Super excited!

I went to Adorned In Grace, a nonprofit where not only do women donate their dresses, but the proceeds of the dress you purchase at a discount goes to helping women recover from sex trafficking

My mom is flying in this weekend to go dress shopping with me so im super excited for it and you posted your video at the perfect time!

Got my dress from lulus and love it! The dress was on clearance ($74) so for the dress and alterations it was less than $300. Plus I was able to order several dresses to try on (in the comfort of my own home) and return the rest. Definitely not a crazy fancy dress but well made and perfect for my style.
  • Found my Maggie sottero double lace fit and flare dress at a local second hand store for $100 it was in perfect condition and fit like a glove! Only thing I'm doing to the dress is getting it cleaned for $60 and having off the shoulder tulle sleeves added for $40 and that's it, it already has a bustle and its the perfect length. I seen the same dress on used websites going for $700-$900 (used) so I definitely got an amazing deal.

I got a sample dress from a bridal store- I had already chosen the dress then they found out they were selling the sample for half the price! Which was so so helpful with alterations costing so much, to still stay in budget!
  • Got my dress on last chance Clearance for $200 (alterations included). It was originally $2000. I absolutely love this dress
  • I bought my dress from the sales section online at Vow'd Weddings. Great experience and customer service. I got my dress at 60% off the original price ($1300) and it was brand new!! It was a mermaid silhouette dress that I bought with confidence after trying on many mermaid dresses at local bridal boutiques where I live. I also shopped sample sales in my area at a boutique where all designer samples were $1000 or less.

Omg! I just found my dream dress over the weekend, but I think the company is a scam, so I’m not going to order from them. I can’t wait to watch this video! So meant to be, thank you 💖

I bought my dress off market place and paid $100 for the dress and $300 for alterations and to add a few details I designed. I loved how it was litteraly unique to me and I wouldn't have felt comfortable altering a more expensive dress the way I did.
  • I have two dresses. One I got on the outlets clearance at Azazie. $300 dress I only paid $60. It is the traditional long train, lace (very Kate Middleton) wedding dress I will wear for the ceremony. Then I got my second look from Poshmark. It's a beautiful gold sequin number that I got half off (still $120) and it was in perfect condition. No alterations needed. So I got two looks for less than $200!
