robot wars issue: Direction pad glitching to neutral (fingernail touching the screen)

1) finger tip touching the screen was registered
2) finger nail touching the screen was not registered
3) finger tip and finger nail touching the screen at the same time was registered even 5 seconds after I slightly lifted the finger tip off the screen while finger nail was still in contact.
(in case anyone is wondering there was a single ochokochi on the field that wiped out the entire team. that robot is just broken!)
