Can't beat an old Toro Recycler mower.

Stuff I used in the video:
Dewalt 20v cutoff tool: amzn.to/3Xbzxlg
Dewalt 8v GYROSCOPIC screwdriver: amzn.to/3qHgNOi

After Thoughts about the Video: Gotta make em look nice and purdy! Otherwise the new owners neglect them and treat them like crap. This will easily go another 10 years with no service and probably 20 if taken care of. Which would outlast an new plastic electric mower if you bought it today...... Side note: Toro's rock and are the best 2nd hand/used mower you can buy! They just never die.

I really really liked your method of cutting new grooves in the wheels at 9:40. that's really clever.
  • @somedudeRyan
Now that mower will probably out live the new ones you can buy today.

When I read "Frower" it made me think of all the bits of junk and railroad spikes that I'd forget in the yard as a kid, and the mower would either destroy itself hitting them or shoot them like a cannonball. My dad used to get so angry at me for leaving scrap around. lol

Always pick up a trick or two from your videos. Thanks for making this less of a throw away society.

I have a Toro one year newer, same engine, aluminum deck, black handle. It still starts 1st or 2nd pull. I paid almost $ 500.00 dollars with tax in the spring of 1995. It has mowed a TON of grass over the years and I wish it cosmetically looked as good as that one. What a score. i guarantee you wont find one today as well built as they were. Trust me I have looked.

These videos where you refurbish equipment that other people throw away are awesome. Keep them up!!!

With the prices of gas mowers these days that’s one heck of a deal for an almost commercial mower. Thanks for sharing Moe! 😊
  • @gutsngorrrr
Nice little find there. With a bit of love you now have a nice little mower that will outlast most of the modern junk.
  • Super job Moe! Your demonstration of how to restring the rewinder will be a big help to my son, whom I sent the link to. Happy Father's Day, Moe.

RE-Groove the tires Now that made my day and also the tee shirt you chose to wear to fix the old red mower
  • @yodasbff3395
Another great sixty-five Ford video. The tire looked brand new after you cut new groves in it, very clever. Happy 8th birthday to your sweet Ginger. Happy Father's Day to you. 👍
  • @M.TTT.
Good ole Toro commercial aluminum deck, even if the engine's shot, it's the only deck I'd ever swap a spare engine onto probably.
  • @drstyxquack
Happy Father's day to all father's today!
  • @guruoo
First time I've seen a resto-fixer dude in youtubeland going so far as to regroove the tires on a lawn mower.

Getting it acclimated, that's the step I was missing LOL. Can't resell these older units, no one wants them but I love them . When I find one it becomes my everyday mower. Still using the one I did a video on " Johnny's first gas engine ". It is left out year round, rain, snow whatever only cover with a barrel. Cut the worst part of the lawn & starts first or second pull. May have to change the deck end of this season but who knows, maybe just a few more tacks. I am always asked." how come I never have a newer mower"? Just can't let the old ones go 😦 Stay well, Joe Z

I got a snow frower a while back. Electric start was broke but the pull start worked fine.
