As a 21 year old I naturally grew up with CD and as such the first music I got as a very young child in the early to mid 2000s was on that format. So of couse despite how much I appreciate vinyl CDs still have sentimentality to me just as vinyl records will have to someone who grew up with them.

Hi Mazzy, My love with CDs and box sets began in 1986 and I have never relinquished... and never ceased. Wow, love to finally getting up close and personal with your CD wall. Unbelievable all encompassing CD collection. I am standing by my earlier claim that you are a Renaissance man. A man for all seasons and genres. God bless and keep well, angel of the VC and CD community, Tino

Pre 1985 I had amassed a substantial vinyl collection.....post 1985 I have been a cd guy....mostly for convenience......storage....rippability.....I do miss cover art etc. But I really like cd box sets etc.....currently waiting for Van Morrison live 1973 2 , 3 and 4.....just picked up the Donovan 1965 cd.....great sound!......very cool cd collection......its nice to see someone else who can go from King Crimson to Norman Blake to Mose Allison............

love that you love CD's as well as vinyl, my two fave and most often listened as far as music, also my most collected, but I stream a bit (lower quality than vinyl or cd) and have a small amount of cassettes. People think CD's are dead. Not at Mazzy's house, or mine and like everything else, they will make a comeback.

Hi Mazzy, amazing Compact Disc collection! Glad you don’t ignore them like most everyone else seems to be doing these days. So happy you mentioned Michael Penn, what an underrated artist. I love all of his albums but probably Resigned is my favorite. His wife is not too shabby herself. Jellyfish, World Party, REM, Elvis Costello and XTC are some other highlights for me. Long live CD’s! Take care. - Matt

I’m 40 and I was buying vinyl when I was a kid bc it was cheaper than CDs. I had spindles of CDs strummed all over. I totally agree on the box sets and bonus. Awesome stuff bud.

Thanks for posting. Really enjoyed seeing what you have. Gonna get a few of those box sets i seen. Thanks.
  • @djvinylvertigo
I love both. I don't care much for downloads. Except for rare remixes. Back into vinyl.
  • I put off getting into CD s until 1990 when I could no longer buy vinyl. Once Columbia Record Club went CD I was screwed. When I jumped I with CD I did in a big way I bought a billion CDs but I never sold any albums. That Flamin Groovie box set is super cool along with the Gainsbourg. Nice selection Mazzy.

Ah, The video I have been waiting for! Mentioned to you before I am a cd guy. First CDs back in 1983. Made mistake of selling 1000 about 14 years ago, but have bought most back since then. Still the "best" format. Collection back up to about 2200 now. Thanks for the Vid.
  • That Fuzzy Warbles set is a must, that coupled with Coat of Many Cupboards. Love XTC. Great collection!
  • What a fantastic cd collection mazzy,I like vinyl too but as with CDs you get good and bad vinyl.think it's the extra tracks that you get on cd that keeps me purchasing them, though if I could afford it would have both formats.my taste is overwhelmingly blues orientated which is half my collection.great video great collection and great channel.top marks to you for sharing all the music you love.

Our opinions and history with cds are very similar. First cd in my collection is Abba, too. I wonder how many alphabetical collections begin with Abba and end with ZZ Top...
  • @pfink70
Nice collection...some really great stuff there. I am surprised you don't have anything by the Aussie band The Church. Starfish (with Under the Milky Way) was their big hit. I recommend also the albums Heyday, Priest=Aura and After Everything Now This. And never apologize for Tori Amos or Enya...they are amazing!

Amazing collection, you have many there I’d like to pick up. Not sure if you had any Peter, Paul and Mary but their A Song Will Rise I play regularly.
