  • You make it look easy and it ain't! I've cut my own hair for 30 years. It's impossible to find a decent hairdresser around here to cut short hair. I finally decided I could mess it up all by myself. Turns out I did a better job than they did.

A lot of useful advice like not pressing your bangs down and let it free when you cut it. I always thought you had to have a 2nd mirror to cut the back of your head, but I guess it's not necessary. And I love the fact you posted the whole video unedited, so we can see the whole process without cuts. Well done!

I wanted to thank everyone for the nice e comments. Lots of home hair cutters on here!!! If times get much worse and more expensive, we may all become home hair cutters. If ya'll have questions or ideas for another video, let me know! God bless
  • I was getting my hair cut about every six weeks and would just take pot luck on which beautician in the salon would take care of it. I always gave the identical orders on what I wanted done and every time I'd walk out with a different haircut - some good, some bad. Well, I'm a dog groomer. I finally decided about ten years ago, if I can do a Doodle I can do my own hair. So once a month I take a clipper, snap on combs and get to it. Takes a few minutes but I get what I want every time and it costs ZERO. Saved hundreds a year and looks better than the salon cuts.

Best video showing a pixie cut that can be done at home. Ive cut my own for years but clicked on this wanting another persons technique. Glad I did because I picked up on a few things . TY so much. You do a great job!

Due to illness, I've been stuck at home & have been looking for a diy haircut for my fine hair. It took me a long time, but I've finally found what I've been looking for in your video. Thank you for providing your haircut & styling technique for those of us with fine hair.
  • Love this! I've been cutting my own hair for +15 years. Since I only use scissors, I needed an instructional on how to take it from slightly longer to a Pixie. This gives me the confidence to go for it. Thank you.
  • Beautiful cut and style! You were so patient and careful with explaining not only the how to but the why you were doing what you did. Thank you!!

I cut my own hair for 50 plus years and cut it pretty short but haven't used clippers. It's a lot of touch and feel but it satisfies me. Thank you for sharing. You did great.Loved watching this.
  • Wow you did an awesome job and think of the money you have saved too. You look amazing🥰

I have seen so many videos where there are tons of products used. This was so good!! Thank you! All the extra products were just weighing my hair down!
  • My mom alway cut her own and my hair, when I was a kid. I was referred to a great haircutter in my 20s. I watched his cut techniques, as I had my mom's years before. After I moved, finding a haircutter who gave me a cut I liked seemed impossible. And after a horrendous cut that made me want to drive off the road, I began cutting my own hair and have gotten consistent compliments over the years. Amanda, thank you for sharing your techniques and tips. I will be applying them to my own cuts! ❤
  • I cut my own hair also and you did a fantastic job. I have been cutting my own hair since I was about 12 years old. You look beautiful and saved yourself about 75 dollars! This was so enjoyable yo watch! Thank you.❤️❤️❤️❤️

Many thanks for this video! I have been cutting my own hair for years but I learned so much from this. You look fabulous and my hair will look much better thanks to you.
  • It takes guts to cut your own hair. I'm gutsy too! But every once in a while I need a Pro to get the shape back. This was a great cut and good direction. It looks very good with your face shape. And I agree, at $75 a cut, I could do other things with that money. I think a lot of women had to shift and adapt during Covid. Women are pros at that anyway! Job well done!
  • What a fabulous video! My hair is similar to yours and my cut is too. I already do some of the things you do but I picked up a few new techniques. Thank you for taking the time to film and explain this!
