I’m starting to realize my love of offset bodies is because of Kurt. I haven’t listened to nirvana in years, but they still have an impression on my taste in music.
  • kurt is very high on my list of influences, that list including frank iero, jerry garcia, eddie van halen, robin skinner, claudio sanchez, and yvette young to name but a few. and as important as they all were and are to my own musical journey, kurt is one of my absolute favorite musicians to have ever lived. it took me a long time to really appreciate nirvana’s music, but after i really dove into it, it was like learning a new language. the way kurt used direct lyrics and driving guitar riffs to tell intricate and complex stories is absolutely incredible. in the decades since his death, we’ve seen a number of artists do what kurt pioneered, and while they all do it very well, there was something very special about how and when kurt wrote the music he did. kurt was uniquely brilliant, and that can never be understated. i wish him a very happy birthday, wherever the hell he ended up

That red Epiphone was also famous for being one of the main guitars of Justin Trosper of Unwound.
  • A beautiful collection and a perfect way as a musician to pay such great respects to a legend who influenced so many of us. Happy Birthday Kurt, we miss you.
  • I'm a really big fan of your channel and Kurt in general, and it was really cool to see all the gear you use on your Nirvana videos.

Nirvana was a massive influence on me, I was 12 in 92 when I first heard Nevermind and that was it. I was lucky enough to get ahold of a Cobain Mustang right when they came out and I love it. I did swap the jb for a super distortion and replaced the tuners with Gotoh's but that's about it. That guitar thru my Mesa studio 22 or deluxe reverb can nail just about any tone. I had an original Jag-Stang years ago, the neck was phenomenal but I just couldn't stand the body. I kinda regret selling it but I liked it more for what it was vs how it played. Funny enough I picked up a Univox Hi Flyer in 93 for $50 and traded it to a guy for an Ibanez RG470 in 96. Seemed like a good idea at the time but I seriously regret that one.

  • Nirvana really got me into rock music and I admire their music so much. They are truly my favorite band, this video was so awesome!
  • Your videos are fantastic and your gear collection is remarkable. I passed up a Jag-Stang many years ago and still regret it. My Squier Super Sonic has a definite Nirvana vibe tho!
