Eduard 1/48 FW190A-8/R2 | Detailed Full Build Plus Diorama Base

Published 2024-06-20
Greetings everyone! In today's episode I'll be building Eduard's fantastic FW190A-8 kit in 1/48 scale. I enjoyed this build much more than I was expecting to and tried out some new to me painting techniques and I think I've finally got a handle on Eduard's new type decals.

Seeing all the steps , the way you approach fitting parts, your techniques and processes, how you use tools and get effects are all very useful for a novice like me -- please continue with the longer format for builds

Wish more people would do “full build” Really helpful for beginners! Thank you 👍🏻😃

I’ve already put a comment, but got to say having watched your build again, it’s fabulous and one of the best builds on YT Jason 🇬🇧
  • I am just getting back into modeling again after being gone for over 40 years. I have been watching your videos and I have learned a lot, but I liked this version better. Thanks it was amazing

This is exactly what I want. Longer videos with more of the process shown.

While I build my models usually I put YouTube videos of people building theirs. I love when they talk about the hobby, the model their are making, and give their opinions. This video it's just great, great work and great finish.

Great work! I like that you show everything on step-by-step basis.

Really enjoyed this long format - it's great to watch, but also to hear you explain the thought process behind each step. The build turned out fantastic, thank you for sharing!

You and @ChampionScaleModelling are two of my favourite YouTubers - your videos are longer, but there's no waffle, just great informative and occasionally humorous commentary.
  • Brett I just got done with this video, I have to say that the length is fine, really well done. Now I'm not really a aircraft modeler but I have built some over the years but I am primarily a warships builder and diorama builder. Primarily I build 1/700 & 1/350. My current project is a 1/700 scale diorama of Pearl Harbor, yes, I am doing the full harbor and shipyard. I must say that I have really enjoyed your channel and it is amazing to see the a work of art transform from a box of plastic. Great job and I appreciate you and your work.
  • Love the new longer format of the video! Fantastic! Excellent build !

I love the extended version! You could always fast forward if you're not interested in a certain part. Keep'em coming!!!
  • I think you have done a spectacular job on this build. I also enjoyed the longer format. It did not waffle on and was constantly informative. My only critique is on some of the colour choices. My research over the years on the Fw190 has found that the interior was painted RLM66, which is a very similar tone to the German grey you used. It is a little more blue however and this can be seen in the colour of the photo etched cockpit panels. The upper colours were RLM74 and RLM75, with the lower surfaces being RLM76. Wheel wells, inside gear doors, and the internals of structures except the cockpit were RLM02. That includes the undercarriage legs. The problem with these Luftwaffe aircraft though is very late in the war they used a whole bunch of different colours. Eduard have been pretty good of late with getting their colour call outs on point. The RLM80 you used on top of your build was seen together with RLM79 sandgelb on Luftwaffe aircraft in the North African theatre. Regardless of these colour call outs it’s a beautiful build, it looks fantastic and you should be very proud of your efforts. Thank you for sharing with us and keep up the great work.
  • There are A LOT of model video with music & no narrative of the “nuts & bolts” of the build. I really appreciate how all of us work thru issues.
  • @markc7002
Exceptional paint job, the shading and modulation is spectacular!!
  • @willdyer3371
Enjoyed the video. Definitely enjoy the longer versions gets more detailed of what you’re doing and the techniques you’re doing, so I can apply them to my models.
  • @danwild1946
Fantastic, I love watching the longer detailed videos like this.
