This show changed my life! I never had a good relationship with my stepfather, and for 7 years had tried to make his life as miserable as possible. But this day, he decided to skip work, check me out of school early and we went downtown to see the show. We had a blast! That day totally changed the way I thought about and acted towards him. Over time we were able to reconcile our differences. I know now, decades later, THAT was the day my stepfather became my father. I love you, Pop!

I skipped school and was there at 7am. All day waiting. I was in the very front.. It's totally worth it

I was at this EXACT show. After having to cancel his appearance at Texas Jam a few years earlier, Sammy always promised he'd come back and play Dallas for free to make up for it. I was in my weightlifting class at McClennan Community College in Waco, Texas when the rock station we were listening to announced that THAT DAY Van Halen would be making good on Sammy's promise and playing for FREE in Dallas. I dropped my weights, found a phone, called my rock band's bassist and guitarist, told them I was ditching class and going to Dallas with *anyone*. The bassist called in sick from work.. The guitarist called in sick from work. We hopped in the bassist's tiny blue piece of crap car and drove to Dallas within the hour. Made it in plenty of time. We split the gas money and caught a great show.

I was there! WHAT A DAY!
-
For an outdoor free concert, the sound, filming, and quality is amazing.
-
When a band sounds this good at a free outdoor gig, you know they are pretty damn legendary.
-
The Red Rocker, I was born in 66 and loved him with VH and all of his solo stuff, and St Louis loves The Red Rocker
-
I was there, right up front! Hell Yea! Dallas was a great place to grow up.
-
You are missed, Ed. Thank you for everything.
-
There will be nothing ever again like a HALEN show! RIP Eddie 🙏
-
Man do I miss these days, music was out of control good.
-
Wow, they sounded so tight. Truly amazing performance of this song--which is one of my favorites. Incredible.
-
God I miss the days when a gig didn’t have a single mobile phone held aloft. Truly living in that moment and feeling the energy of a gig how it’s meant to be.
-
The older I get the more I appreciate Hagar as the lead singer for VH. The original lineup will always be my favorite but I DEFINITELY respect the hell out of Sammy for taking the reigns. He is (in reality) a truly fantastic vocalist.
-
Man they sound SOO good!! Everyone healthy and playing strong!! What a powerhouse! Sammy was great!!
-
Dammmm, 80's and 90's was magic and will never repeat again. Better? Not even possible!
-
Michael Anthony just RIPPING on the bass! Amazing! 🔥🤘🏽🔥
-
Eddie was really on top of his game here - fantastic playing.
-
Man, I like this better than the Right Here Right now VHS-DVD. Really raw & live..
