The Lion owners like to segment their business into many different companies. That way, when they inevitably have a major accident due to overworked and underpaid crews and poor maintenance, they can just close down that company and escape any responsibility, while continuing to operate the others unaffected.

The airline was started because Lion Air was delinquent on the lease payments of 30 of their 737-900ERs during covid. Subsequently, these were repossessed by the lessors (and later got bought by delta). Needing to make up for the lost capacity, the airline group leased lots of older A320s from different lessors. There were some good articles about it in the Air Finance Journal at the time. To my knowledge, the 737-900ER lessors are still fighting Lion in court for the arrears in lease payments.

Super Air Jet sounds like what ChatGPT would generate if you asked it for generic airline names lmao
  • I only fly Guaruda Airlines when traveling between Jakarta and Bali. You took one for the team on this one...Terima Kasih Pak! 😊

I moved from Nottingham to the Dorset coast three years ago and I'm pissing myself laughing at your absolutely spot on comparison to Nottingham bus station.
  • Super Air Jet motto: 'Our seats may have springs sticking out of them, but our engines probably don't'.

I am Indonesian, and i dont want to fly superairjet. But sometimes, it is the only option available because the other options such as Garuda, Citilink, Batik, and even Lion is quickly sold out... and weirdly, super air jet is usually the only ones often left available for the intended timeslot. So yeah 😂.

Tbf, their 61 A320s are leased and all use the older IAE V2500 engines. Most come from India.

Great video! I watched it for the first time in the LATAM Lounge in São Paulo Brazil 🇧🇷 while I was filming a flight review video and I gave it and you a shout out I’ll let you know once it’s out! 😂 Cheers 🥂 mate!
  • We recently stayed in an all inclusive hotel south of Cancun that emitted a flowery fragrance in the common areas so when you smelled that flower again you thought of your time at that hotel. Sounds like you got the same treatment only in reverse.

I’m often in Indonesia and getting on board a cartoon/superhero sounding name airline (Super Air Jet) doesn’t do it for me, and after the vid, well, vid confirmed. Airasia or Citilink for me Noel for the budget airlines. Lionair have done years ago, once was enough. I take it you didn’t do the loo review as it already stank bad enough in the cabin right😂
  • @SmithBeatZ1
I like when you show the hotel room and a little bit of that stuff.

I flew same airline same route last week, the aircraft I flew on was newer than the one you flew on and it didn't smell. price was £33

Great that you still travel economy a lot and not just business/first like a lot of other YouTubers. Keeping it real!

I flew with Super Air Jet 4 months ago with my family, and my mom also experienced the exact same problem as you regarding the seat lol. And yeah, for some reason, they don't sell any on board things. Not even a bottle of water. Probably because they're ultra low cost. We forgot to bring any water with us during our 3 hour flight and I almost passed out because of dehydration. Good thing I managed to survive
  • Good video! I’m glad to see you flying a new low cost airline. Hopefully you got an appointment for your back when you are back in the states. Also on a side note it’s good to see closed captions on the videos! Keep up the good work
