One of the oldest buildings in Denmark has caught on fire. The Old Stock Exchange in the Danish capital of Copenhagen has stood since the year 1625 a short distance away from Christiansborg Palace and the Danish Parliament. Flames were seen coming through the roof around 8:30 in the morning on April 16. Reports say people could be seen rushing in and out of the building trying to save some of the priceless artwork and furniture that was held inside. There have been no reports of injuries.

Ain’t no way Inside Edition reports on the Notre Dame Cathedral fire YESTERDAY, from 5 years ago…. And this happens today, bruh.

This happened exactly 5 years and 1 day after Notre Dame had burned down! (look at the responses for an interesting conversation)

This is so sad to hear about this fire. So much art and history for Scandinavia, gone. At least nobody was hurt. Love ❤️🙏🏻🌹and prayers from USA 🇺🇸

Oh no! Not another historic building! First Notre Dame Cathedral, and now Old Stock Exchange? 😢

Børsen var sådan en ikonisk bygning, det er virkelig sørgeligt!
  • So sad. So glad no one was hurt except for precious artwork. I have been to Copenhagen twice. Beautiful city and very lovely people too.

Notre Dame had a worse day, but yeah earlier in the morning, when I was going to school, I saw that building burned down and one of my parents told me too. But thank god everyone is okay! Especially these antique furnitures and paintings!
  • Åååå, dette er veldig trist!!! Det skjer så mange branner under rehabilitering av bygninger, det må bli større sikkerhet under slike arbeider!!! ❤❤❤🇩🇰🇳🇴❤❤❤

Stories like these that report historical buildings and landmarks on fire both saddens and angers me. 😢😡
  • Well I hope they find what caused the fire to happen, no building that's been up for that long should have to go through that.

Cause? Who & what is behind this blaze? Arson? Ritual ? Accidental? A mix of all these? A marvel of architectural history passing into oblivion.

Makes you wonder what will be the next historic building to catch fire while undergoing renovation/restoration on April 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th or 17th 2029?
