  • Very good video Ron and thanks for doing it.  I have one question. if the Reed valves open and closes due to the differential pressures-- at the bottom of the stroke the valves should still be open until the piston starts moving up. Likewise at the top of the stroke the discharge valve should still be open until the piston starts moving down. This is one reason why the reciprocating compressor is not as efficient as the Scroll or Rotary. In your video you stated that the valves closes when the piston is at the bottom and closes again at the top when it stops.

    Hi Ron...Could you please explain how to handle the moisture content in the HVAC system. So we are assuming that all of the refrigerant goes into the Compressor as vapor/ gas...I understand, we are making sure this happens for sure with the superheat concept. But I am looking for an indepth answer.

    how is low side at 69 psig and hi side only 27.8 psig.....Typo ????
