Approach into Jesenwang (EDMJ) with C172

Published 2022-06-09
Returning from a training flight to Schwäbisch-Hall, I recorded this approach to Jesenwang airfield, which is known for its short runway (408m) with a forest at the end.
Calculating mass&balance as well as takeoff performance is essential every time you fly out of there.
Also when landing, your flare/round out has to begin before start of the runway, otherwise you will float too far and waste valuable ground, especially with hot temperatures when you have higher GS for the same IAS.
Stable Vapp (60kts) is also crucial till the end of the forest.
