It's interesting to note that everyone in this video is a teenager. The younger crowd is viewed as the most technologically dependent, and really that assumption makes sense, since everyone under 30 actually grew up around PCs. That isn't to say that adults don't do this, as well.

It's infuriating how people notice that teenagers are notorious for texting while driving, and automatically assume I'm one of them. I'm a 17 year old high school junior from San Diego, I own a cell phone, and I do not talk on my cell phone or text while driving. Unlike most people I know, I'm not stupid enough to take the risk. If you're arrogant enough to think you can get away with it, you do not deserve a driver's license.

@ZillahLewis It's infuriating working at a drive-through window. Not only are manners absent and rushed and empty, but the stupidity that people demonstrate while driving effects a deep-seated fear of driving and distrust of everyone else on the road. Unfortunately, not everyone is a defensive driver. So many of us are so wrapped up in ourselves that we just assume we're right and everyone else is wrong. Rarely do actual laws or initial safety training enter our minds.

@ZillahLewis These days, pretty much anyone except the extremely unfortunate can afford a cell phone. I'm pulling this out of the blue, but I guess that most people under 50 do, in fact, text. Talking is a given. Many people 16-50 are arrogant enough to assume they can handle multi-tasking when driving, because there is no age barrier for arrogance and a distinct lack of understanding of, or interest in, consequences.

Sorry -- neither. Even changing the radio can be distracting -- talking or texting, where you're paying more attention, directly and indirectly, to what you're saying or about to, is just stupid, and I hope I know better.
