Deep down. I mean really REALLY deep down, we all secretly love Preston and his constant map marking

"Everything in the castle is stuff you get in the vanilla game" "So these are the 6,431 mods I used to make it work."
  • After 20years in the military I can tell you that walls separating the toilets would be a luxury. I use to be able to ask a buddy for the sports section.

The caps stash on the officer's night stand reminds me of an old joke. "No one's a thief in the army, everyone's just trying to get their shit back"
  • @harveybower9899
"Its real name is Fort Independence" -Preston Garvey, before taking the Castle.

The whole soldiers farming thing goes back before the romans. Most civilizations have required soldiers to produce their own food at permanent installations. With the romans, it was said they used their shovels far more than their swords, both for road- and defensive-construction, as well as farming.

In addition to their reference of that legend, the dead General has Amontillado wine on his inventory, serving as a reference to the story written by Poe.

“I did this without mods, here’s 18 mods I used to do it!!”
  • @dallas44
there's another help in trouble that needs our settlement
  • I know this is an old video, but I find it very humorous whenever he refers it as "my "The Castle""
  • From the beginning until now (I am level 51), I ignored settlement building, The Minutemen, and, of course, the annoying Preston. I used Red Rocket to dump my loot. When I unlocked The Castle recently, everything changed. I loved renovating The Castle, I love establishing and helping other settlements, and I love Preston. Out of all the factions, the Minutemen stand above all others as truly worthy of defending.

The funny thing is that I didn't loose any minute men in the attack because I cleared it out before Preston even mentioned it!
  • @Wierdperson31
No, Ox. Obviously, those men were with the Institute, and they killed Gustavus Drane and buried him in the wall, and a Synth lived out the rest of Drane's life.
  • @KimberDillon4
I love when you include real-world history in your Fallout 4 Lore OxHorn...
  • @GreenMMs100
When you look at the wine bottles on the floor you'll find it says Bottle of Amontillado. That's where I made the connection, I didn't realise it was a real life legend too
  • For me every settler(except children) is a Minuteman. They wear whatever they come with but I put a Militia hat or a Minuteman hat and I arm my settlers with a Pipe Rifle, Hunting Rifle, or a Laser Musket. I tried to make them more of a militia then a formal army.

Alcohol is totally military, marine corps was founded in a bar. Hell yeah.
  • @nono-kr7um
One of the rooms you used as Minutemen barracks was the one I used for my ''General's Quarters'', the room's actually my player home, I got a bed there, my Minutemen PA displayed at a power armor station, a bed on the side, a table I imagine my character uses to do paper work and all that you usually need for a player home! I put quite the effort into decorating the room, showing the love for detail I had while working on it.
  • @codplayer5812
Preston calls it fort independence but he said the minutemen called it the castle
