Mediating parties’ patience ‘running out’ amid bid to resume ceasefire talks: Marwan Bishara

Published 2024-08-08
Al Jazeera’s senior political analyst Marwan Bishara says the latest invitation extended to Israel and Hamas by mediating parties to resume ceasefire talks means “their patience is running out”. “It’s certainly the case for mediators Egypt and Qatar,” Bishara said. He said among the key factors to consider is the possible escalation towards a full-blown war in the region, with Hezbollah and Iran threatening that they will respond to Israel. “It seems like the Iranians sort of leaked that only a ceasefire will cool the spirits in the region – and I think that was echoed in Washington,” Bishara said.

Very sad that Netanyahu is heeded at all! There should be so much shame that he should feel ostracized by the entire world! The atrocities alone have filled the world with outrage! What more do we have to tolerate!

These people have challenged God and every Prophet that he sent to humanity, so deception and breaking promises is not a crime but a tradition for them.

Israel needs to be taught that they can’t go around a commit crimes against humanity. If the ICJ won’t intervene then the world needs to step up and support Iran in teaching Israel a lesson. As for the U S, they just need to stay out of this mess and quit supporting Israel.

Patience has not run out when it comes to not giving the hostages back tho?

Gambling in Las Vegas is more practical than gambling on this war. It will not have a happy ending for both sides. $60 billion US dollars and thousands of casualties is a hefty price for little to no progress.

  • The occupation and sponsors' economic plan for Gaza land without Palestinian people. Gaza 90 % rubbles. Produce oil and gas. Build the Ben Gurion canal and port. Real Estate. Google, Gaza 2035.

what if Iran, Hezbollah and Ansar Allah say they'll back off their retaliation if Israel commits to a ceasefire and eventually a two-state agreement?
